Police in Nova Scotia are on the hunt for the driver of the C8 Corvette Z06 after a video posted online shows the driver hitting a staggering 186.4mph. The car in question is potentially linked to other driving complaints in the local area.
The police said the video shows the car hitting its dizzying speed on a provincial roadway. The video of the car gained a lot of traction online, and comments soon flooded in as speculation rose as to what the car was, who was driving it, and why it was going at such high speeds.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Nova Scotia are appealing for any information that the public has to help them catch the driver who caused the mayhem in the car. The RCMP appealed for help on their social media, with the video itself viewable on TikTok.

In the footage, the car’s speedometer reaches a dizzying 301km/h (186.4mph). We can also hear the driver and passenger in the Corvette laughing loudly, oblivious to the dangers they pose to themselves and those around them. It appears the footage was filmed from the passenger seat.
The police believe that this particular car is connected to other driving complaints in the area.
“Driving at these speeds is not a thrill; it’s a danger,” said Sgt. James Jessome. Other concerns were raised by the video.
The driver appeared to be using a 12-and-5 hand position on the steering wheel, meaning he would not have had good control of the car if it had tried to get away from him.
In the footage, we can also see the Corvette running wide on a curve, and the fact that it was night added another element of danger to the whole affair. The video also appears to reveal an SVNS hard 7up alcoholic drink in the cup holder, suggesting that at least some alcohol had been consumed before the incident was filmed. Drink driving is dangerous as it is, and that danger only amplifies when you are doing so at nearly 200mph.
Police Are Appealing for More Information
The RCMP is appealing for more information regarding the driver of the Corvette and the sports car itself. The C8 Z06 has a massive flat-plane-crank V8 engine under the hood, making 670hp, so it is certainly no slouch. But just because it has all that power, it doesn’t mean it should be used on a public road.
