LEGO has massively expanded over the decades, producing all sorts of incredible kits. One of the most popular ranges is the Technic range, which is full of incredible supercar and hypercar kits from the McLaren P1 to the Ferrari Daytona SP3.
That has led to plenty of people pushing for new kits for the series thanks to LEGO Ideas. This is the site where people can design and create their own kits that they think LEGO should produce, and if they get enough support, the toy company will consider making them.
A user by the name of MAP Tec has come up with one of their own, a kit based on the SSC Tuatara Striker hypercar. In fact, the user has been trying to get the kit commissioned since summer 2025, although so far it hasn’t quite had the support it probably deserves.
This is by far one of the most impressive-looking kits on LEGO Ideas that we have seen. It comes with all the functionality you would expect from a Technic kit, and it is incredibly well detailed. Even the interior has functional items, such as the adjustable seats and glove compartment.
The SSC Tuatara Striker Kit Is Very Impressive
The interior might be the most impressive part of this kit. Inside, we can see fully adjustable seats and even an opening glove compartment for that extra real feel. The designer has also given it a rear-view mirror and a fully working steering wheel, something we see on pretty much every Technic car kit. A nice touch is the fitting of cogwheels on the dashboard that carry the American flag.
The creator did have to make some compromises with the kit. Some of the parts that should be black are not, due to what LEGO provides. Parts like the adjustable suspension, front lights that move with the steering, and moving rear spoiler are all present, but are not active due to more limitations. But that doesn’t detract from the attention to detail that has been provided with the kit.
At the time of writing, the design had 1,756 supporters on the LEGO Ideas website. That is below the 5,000 it needs to get through to the next stage. If it manages that in the 174 days left, it could progress to 10,000 likes, the threshold before LEGO recognizes the fan-designed set. Given what cars are already in the range, it would be very cool to see one of SSC’s products make it into the LEGO series.
How Good Is the SSC Tuatara Striker?
The SSC Tuatara Striker is one of the most impressive cars to come out of an American company. The Striker is an extreme, track-focused but street-legal version of the regular Tuatara, taking it to new levels. Under the hood is a 5.9-liter twin-turbocharged flat-plane crank V8 engine making 1,750hp on E85 fuel. If you run it on 91-octane pump gas, it still makes a rather incredible 1,350hp, plenty for it to keep up with most of its main rivals.
That power gave it a 0- 60 mph time of just 2.5 seconds, and it only took another 2.5 seconds for the car to reach 120mph. Thanks to its incredible aerodynamic features such as the active rear wing, the car could produce 1,100lbs of downforce. Naturally, the LEGO version would produce less than that, but it’s impressive to see that wing replicated on the kit. When introduced, the Striker cost a staggering $1.9 million, making it one of the most expensive hypercars of the modern era. If the LEGO kit ever does make it to production, we don’t think it will be quite that expensive!
