Buying new car parts and getting them fixed can sometimes be quite stressful. However, a Mazda dealership worker said that there is an Amazon hack that can save money on parts and make the whole ordeal much better for our wallets.
TikTok user Donovan (@donovandrives) posted the video, which currently has over 570,000 views at the time of writing. He said the money-saving tip “feels illegal to know.” Thankfully, it is completely legal and just involves some clever searching to find the best price for a part.
The comments on the video were full of shock from those who had watched it. Not only because of the money that could be saved, but also because it was a salesman from a dealership who was helping them save money. Many feel that dealerships often do the opposite and try to get more money from our wallets.
Any money-saving tips, however, will certainly be greatly appreciated in 2026. It is not easy with prices across the world rising for pretty much anything, and many of us rely on our cars for our daily lives. So any chance to save money should be taken.

The hack itself seems incredibly simple. The TikTok user said that if you want to save money, go to Google, type in your manufacturer’s name, and then add ‘parts catalogue’ to what you search on Google. “Go to that website, find the part you need for your make and model year car on there,” Donovan said. But that isn’t the end of the hack.
The car part should then populate the search that you have just done. Donovan said that the product description will have an SKU or part number, and that we should go ahead and copy and paste that number into Amazon. After pasting it into Amazon, we may well find that the part is for sale via the online retailer, and it could be much cheaper than normal. “See what that does for the price. Hope that helps,” Donovan said.
As you may expect, there was quite a response to this method in the comments. “Wait…. A car salesman that’s saving me money!? My man,” one TikTok user said. “My daughter just did this, then had a mobile mechanic come and change her brake pads. Saved $800,” a second added. Not everyone, however, trusted Amazon. Many suggested RockAuto as the place to go. “Don’t trust Amazon parts. Use RockAuto instead. You’re getting parts straight from the manufacturer with great prices,” said one.
Should You Use Car Parts From Amazon?
It is okay to be wary of buying parts from Amazon. But Amazon OEM Parts offers genuine car parts and accessories that are from the original manufacturers. We can also find aftermarket parts and custom car parts, and we can skip the dealership and save plenty of money. That is good for the consumer, especially at a time when money is perhaps tighter than normal for a lot of us.
There are a few risks, however, with buying from Amazon. Listings may be of lower-quality parts than what we want, but it may also be that there are scammers who are trying to pass fake parts off as real ones, and for a much lower price. These parts may even be second-hand or faulty. So while this tip is certainly one that should be explored, there are definitely some caveats to it.
