It won’t come as a surprise to learn that two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso has an amazing car collection. He was recently spotted in Monaco driving around in his recently acquired Bugatti EB110 supercar. Now, he has been seen cruising around the principality once again, this time in something very different.
Alonso has been seen driving around in his Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar. This is the car that served as the basis for the hypercar we see racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA Sports Car Series.
The Formula 1 legend was spotted heading through the iconic Monaco tunnel in videos shared widely across social media. As the Valkyrie’s Cosworth V12 engine produces so much noise, Alonso was wearing a pair of ear defenders to protect his hearing from the sound.
Given that the F1 legend is also one of the current Aston Martin drivers in F1, it certainly won’t be a surprise to see that he has one of the Valkyries in his collection. It is one of the coolest performance cars currently available, and Alonso has an eye for all things cool.
Alonso Was Cruising the Streets of Monaco in His Valkyrie

The Spanish F1 legend was clearly just out and about, having a nice drive in the hypercar in Monaco, where he and a lot of other F1 drivers now reside. We can just see him wearing his ear defenders in the cockpit, and it’s easy to see why, given how loud the car is in the videos shared across social media.
We see Alonso first heading through the Monaco tunnel, which is arguably the coolest part of the F1 circuit. A second shot shows him merging into another road off a side street, and here we get to see the V12 sing just a little bit. While the race car has no hybrid power, the road car has a 160hp electric motor to go with the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 engine. In total, the powertrain gives the Valkyrie a whopping 1,160 hp.
Not all of us can look cool driving one of these cars, but Alonso definitely did. It is the second time in recent weeks he has been seen driving around Monaco. The F1 legend was spotted not long ago driving his Bugatti EB110, a 1990s supercar that he has only recently purchased. These two cars are just a very small part of his huge collection.
Is Fernando Alonso Having a Good 2026 Season?
It is fair to say that the 2026 F1 season probably isn’t going as Alonso had hoped. His Aston Martin team started the year with a car that was overweight, off the pace, and with a Honda engine down on power and with poor reliability. Aston Martin has regularly propped up the back of the grid at F1 races, and the team was desperate for some signs of progress.
However, that has come in recent weeks. A major chassis overhaul came at the Hungarian Grand Prix and instantly made the car more competitive. A new Honda upgrade at Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix has also helped, although it needs a few tweaks to unlock its potential. If the team can keep making progress, maybe we will see Alonso in F1 for another season at least.
