It is amazing what you can do with LEGO now. When it first came out, the Danish toy was all about using whatever bricks were possible to make something akin to real life. Nowadays, all sorts of kits are available to allow you to create almost anything and make it look as accurate as possible.
LEGO has also partnered up with various brands over the years to create special kits or for some extra special projects. One of those is with Koenigsegg, and the Swedish supercar manufacturer has teamed up with LEGO to create something very cool.
This is a full-size LEGO version of the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear supercar, a supercar with a top speed of 224mph and a ridiculous power figure of over 1,600hp if the car is on E85 fuel, or 1,282 hp on regular fuel. This new LEGO version of the car isn’t quite that quick.
But it has now set a record for the fastest LEGO car ever produced. Yes, you did read that right. LEGO has set its own world record with its new collaboration, and it took it to the Goodwood hillclimb in England to show off just how fast it really is.
How LEGO Created Its Own Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear

The stats behind this creation are truly remarkable. The LEGO replica is full-size, and it is made up of 327,906 LEGO pieces. The car weighs 3,968lbs but amazingly, only 882lbs of that is thanks to the LEGO bricks themselves. The rest of the weight comes from things like the tires and the powertrain it uses.
It took over 9,400 hours to create the LEGO supercar. It also has features such as “Ghost Mode,” which allows the doors, hood, and mirrors to open at the same time at the touch of a button. This is a feature on the real car that the toy maker has managed to recreate on its own interpretation of the supercar. This could be the ultimate LEGO model.

Naturally, it is the speed that is the focus here. LEGO sent the car up the Goodwood hillclimb in England, which is the host of the iconic Goodwood Festival of Speed event every summer. Markus Lundh, Koenigsegg’s official test driver, was at the wheel of the car, and he was able to fly up the hillclimb at 69mph. For a heavy LEGO car, that is impressive, and it beat the previous LEGO record set by a McLaren P1, which was 31mph.
A Special Sadair’s Spear Set Is Coming From LEGO

Of course, the full-size creation wasn’t just about setting a new world record. It was also about launching a new set from LEGO. The Technic range is to be expanded with the Sadair’s Spear set, which was also shown off by the two companies. This 1:8 scale model joins others from the likes of McLaren, Ferrari, Bugatti, Porsche and Lamborghini.
It is a very faithful recreation of the car, with key features such as the piston-style V8 engine, a functional nine-speed sequential transmission and front and rear Triplex suspension. And yes, the smaller LEGO model also comes with Ghost Mode. The cost of the set is around $515, and it will be available to LEGO Insiders members from July 1st, 2026, onwards, with public sale following on July 4th.
