The idea of buying a whole car for less than $1,000 seems incredibly fanciful these days. Car prices have risen more and more, and it’s becoming harder to find cheap ‘bangers’ second-hand for virtually nothing. However, one woman was lucky enough to find a Honda Accord on Facebook Marketplace for just $700.
TikTok creator Jayda (@jaydasride) posted a video on her account where she spoke about her 2009 Honda Accord, bought for the low price of just $700. Not only that, but she was able to get some money off, as the car was originally priced at $1,000.
Not content with just driving the car as is, Jayda decided to do some work on the Accord. This included mechanical work, an interior refresh, and a few exterior changes to get the car looking almost as good as new. You may well expect this to cost a fortune.
However, it did not cost a fortune, and as the comments section of her video showed, people were in awe of what she had managed to do with the Honda. Proof that even an old banger can become something very tidy.
How Jayda Was Able To Revitalize Her $700 Honda Accord

Jayda found the car on a Facebook Marketplace listing, and for just $700, the 2009 Honda Accord was too tempting. The list price was actually $1,000, but she was able to negotiate and get that price down even more. According to the TikTok user, the car only needed minor maintenance when she got the car back home.
However, Jayda decided to go beyond just a basic service. She had the radiator flushed on the car, but also decided to get the interior detailed, new tires, a new battery, and restored the headlights. She even got new door panels to match the black-and-grey interior of the Honda. Jayda also secured a new air intake hose and a new headliner for her car. She really did go all in to get the car back to tip-top condition.
Jayda also listed off what she paid for the parts on the Honda. The items were as follows;
- $400 for tires
- $200 for maintenance products
- $200 for the new battery
- $400 for detailing products
- $5 for the headlight kit, which was on sale
- $60 for door panels from a junk yard
- $30 for the air intake hose
- $100 for the headliner materials
In total, Jayda paid around $1,400 for all the extra parts for the Honda. With the car costing just $700, in total she paid around $2,100 for the 2009 Honda Accord. According to Kelley Blue Book, a 2009 Accord can sell for around $4,800, so even with all the extra parts and work required, Jayda has managed to snag quite a bargain, and she also ended up with a great project car.
Viewers Were Impressed With Jayda’s Work

Jayda herself was quite rightly pleased with the work she had done. “That’s it so far, but I’m so pleased with how everything is coming together,” she said in the video. Unsurprisingly, a lot of her viewers were also impressed with the work she had put in. “This whole thing was satisfying, but the dirty interior to clean was 10/10,” said one of her viewers.
Jayda also said that she learned from YouTube videos how she could do most of the work on the car. “Real. I’m always telling people YouTube and Google are free,” said another TikTok user. The 2009 Honda Accord is a great project car, not least because as a Honda, it will likely last for an entire lifetime. So Jayda has done well, and we think the results speak for themself.
