Even a supercar may not have grabbed as many eyeballs as the man who rode a beach chair in Maui and became an internet sensation in no time.

The man has made headlines for his innovation that beats walking or running, and the best part is you don’t need to fill the chair with expensive gas.

While it is hard to believe, the man in question actually crossed the road sitting on a beach chair, and he did it at a decent pace.

Life must have been a beach for him because all he did was strap the chair to a motorized skateboard to reach places. Given the cool way in which he crossed the street, we bet he has already reached places in life!

A woman recorded the video of the man riding on a beach chair from her vehicle at a traffic stop, which has gone viral on social media. In the video shared by ABC7NY, the man in the chair waits for the signal to turn red before crossing the road.

The scene looked hilarious because, how often have you seen a man in shorts, sitting in a chair at a busy traffic junction, waiting to cross the road? What was funnier was the way he took off, crossed the road, and leaned to the left to execute a turn.

One can only make out that the beach chair is attached to a motorized skateboard after watching the clip two or three times. The woman laughing in the background makes the video even funnier.

Details of the mobile chair, such as its build, the kind of skateboard used, and information about the owner, were unavailable. What is known, as per the caption, is that the man and his beach chair were sighted in Maui, an island in Hawaii.

Users of Instagram have reacted to the funny video, and some comments are as follows:

One user wrote:

“Her laughter was funny, but his body turns were funnier. Lol”

Another user said they would choose this due to rising gas prices:

“I’m getting one because Jersey gas prices got me 😨”

A user demanded that this technology be patented:

“If it doesn’t require gas someone needs to protect this man and his patent 😩”

One user said how this technology would be treated in Europe:

“EU would require 10 licenses and a €1000 fee😂”

Another user mentioned a safety feature the man could probably implement on his Mobile Beach Chair Project 2.0:

“Seat belt 🫣😂”

If This Wasn’t Enough, There’s Also a Pear Riding Across the USA

Courtesy of rising gas prices, Andrew Glubbey gathered some wood and aluminum panels from tins to make a giant pear, his favorite fruit, and fixed it around his motorcycle to travel across the country.

Guessing Headlights recently reported how Glubbey has driven across the country with his friends, but now, he is doing it on two wheels while looking exactly like a pear.

Glubbey, who is a sculptor, is riding 3,100 miles, heading north from Merritt Island, Florida, toward Georgia and traveling through as many cities as possible before reaching the Pacific coast. Revealing his inspiration behind this idea, he said:

“I really love the shape. I’ve always loved just eating pears. It’s like an apple with a little head on it. It’s one of the funniest-looking fruits, and I think it’s a very happy shape. It’s voluptuous, and it’s smiling.

“I’ve done pear sculptures in the past. People loved them, and I thought it was a really fun shape to make. It fit perfectly on the bike, and there’s enough space for storage inside the pear as well, without having saddlebags on the outside of the sculpture.”

Despite having a bus, Glubbey said a motorcycle made more sense due to the rising fuel prices:

“Honestly, it started out just wanting to save on gas. I have a bus out in Florida, and I wanted to travel. I was doing the math on how much it would cost to get up to Washington in the bus. Out on the West Coast, it’s probably $6 to $7 a gallon of gas.

“It would cost me probably close to $3000 to get there and back. I was like, there must be a better way. And I’m not afraid of getting a little dirty and a little wet.”

He added that thus far, the pear has been very easy to ride:

“I was kind of surprised by how easy this pear is to drive on two wheels, and I hope to inspire other people to do the same thing on a motorcycle. It’s easier to go from city to city, and take a break in the city. With motorcycles, it’s a lot harder to just keep driving and driving and driving, because it’s just a lot more work.

“I really enjoy the motorcycle, because you don’t have to really modify the bike at all. And you have so much space to work with. Obviously, you can only do so much on a motorcycle, because you have to lean. So the sides have to be high enough off the ground, so when you’re at an angle it doesn’t scrape.”
