A dramatic crash caught on camera in San Francisco shows the moment an Arcimoto FUV three-wheeler slammed into an Audi at an intersection, sending one of the occupants tumbling across the street.
The collision happened around noon on Wednesday near the intersection of Baker and Hayes streets in the city’s Panhandle neighborhood. Video from the scene quickly spread online because of the violent nature of the impact.
As the three-wheeler struck the Audi, one occupant was ejected and rolled across the roadway while the Audi spun through the intersection after its airbags deployed.
According to the San Francisco Fire Department, four people were transported to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Police closed off the area while investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash.

The footage begins with two pedestrians approaching the intersection as a black Audi enters the frame.
Moments later, an Arcimoto FUV, a three-wheeled electric autocycle, crashes into the side of the Audi. The force of the impact sends one of the Arcimoto’s occupants flying from the vehicle and across the roadway, where they come to a stop on the pavement.
The Audi’s airbags deploy almost immediately, and the vehicle spins following the collision. The pedestrians narrowly avoid becoming involved and can be seen rushing toward the crash scene after the impact.
The second occupant of the Arcimoto appears to remain inside the vehicle as the damaged three-wheeler comes to a stop in the intersection.
Four People Were Taken to the Hospital

In a statement posted on social media, the San Francisco Fire Department confirmed that four people were transported to a hospital after the crash.
“Motor vehicle accident with 4 people transported to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries at the intersection of Baker/Hayes St. Please avoid the area while SFPD does their investigation,” the department wrote.
Photos from the scene show heavy damage to the Audi’s driver ‘s-side rear door. The Arcimoto also sustained visible damage from the collision.
Police taped off the area while investigators worked to determine what led to the crash. No additional information about the people involved has been released.

Arcimoto’s Three-Wheeled EV Takes a Different Approach
The Arcimoto FUV, short for Fun Utility Vehicle, is a fully electric three-wheeled vehicle that first entered production in 2019.
Unlike a traditional car, the FUV uses a motorcycle-style layout with two wheels up front and one in the rear. The vehicles are classified as autocycles in California and are legal to operate on public roads.
The unusual design has helped the FUV stand out from traditional EVs, but videos like this also serve as a reminder that occupants in lightweight vehicles can experience violent forces during a crash.
Authorities have not yet announced the cause of the collision, and the investigation remains ongoing.
