Woman Says Phoenix Police Arrested Her For DUI Despite Blowing 0.000

What was supposed to be the start of a honeymoon turned into a nightmare for one newlywed.

A California woman is now suing the Phoenix Police Department after she says officers arrested her for DUI, even though she reportedly blew a 0.000 breathalyzer result.

And that wasn’t the end of it.

According to the lawsuit, a later blood test also found no drugs or alcohol in her system.

It Happened The Day After Her Wedding

According to court filings, Brianna Longoria had traveled to Arizona for her wedding in late 2024.

She reportedly chose Arizona so her ill father could attend.

The day after getting married, she was pulled over by Phoenix Police Department officers who allegedly claimed she ran a red light.

Her lawsuit says bodycam footage later showed the light was actually green.

She Blew Triple Zeroes

After being pulled over, Longoria was reportedly asked to perform sobriety testing.

According to the lawsuit:

  • She passed an eye test
  • She blew 0.000 on a breathalyzer
  • Officers allegedly acknowledged the result on bodycam footage

One officer was reportedly heard saying:

“Triple zeroes like I thought.”

Despite that, Longoria says she was still arrested after officers allegedly pivoted to suspecting marijuana impairment.

Blood Tests Came Back Clean Too

The lawsuit claims officers later ordered a blood draw.

That test reportedly found no evidence of drugs or alcohol.

A second officer allegedly reviewed Longoria’s condition and reportedly described her test results as “super in the norms.”

The Quota Allegations Are What Make This Story Explosive

This case gained national attention because of what was allegedly captured on bodycam footage afterward.

According to the lawsuit, officers were recorded discussing pressure to make DUI arrests.

One officer allegedly said she could be removed from DUI duty if she didn’t make enough arrests.

She reportedly said:

“I can’t just conjure one up.”

Another officer allegedly responded:

“You can. You can.”

Phoenix Police Department has denied having DUI quotas.

The Fallout Was Severe

The DUI charge was eventually dropped, but Longoria says the damage was already done.

According to the lawsuit:

  • Her honeymoon was canceled
  • Her driver’s license was temporarily suspended
  • Her cervical cancer treatment was delayed due to transportation issues
  • The arrest allegedly harmed her nursing career prospects

Her legal team is now seeking $7 million in damages.

This Case Could Get Much Bigger

Wrongful DUI arrests aren’t new, but bodycam footage allegedly capturing officers discussing quotas could become the most damaging part of this lawsuit.

If discovery moves forward, the city may have to answer difficult questions about whether unofficial arrest quotas exist, even if official policy says otherwise.
