The aviation industry’s most prestigious awards have been announced, revealing which airlines consistently deliver exceptional cabin service through their flight attendants. Based on the latest Skytrax World Airline Awards, widely regarded as the “Oscars of aviation,” the top five airlines with the best flight attendants showcase a clear pattern of excellence that predominantly features Asian carriers.
1. Singapore Airlines

At this year’s SKYTRAX World Airline Awards, Singapore Airlines’ Cabin Crew were voted the ‘World’s Best Cabin Crew’. Air Nippon Airways (ANA) took second place, followed by Cathay Pacific in third place.
Singapore Airlines has maintained its reputation as the undisputed leader in flight attendant service. The airline with the best flight attendants around is Singapore Airlines. This Asian carrier won the title of World’s Best Cabin Crew 2024 per Skytrax World Airline Awards.
What sets Singapore Airlines apart is its comprehensive training program. The cabin crew at Singapore Airlines takes a comprehensive training course, well beyond service delivery and safety. The almost four-month ab-initio course goes above and beyond to ensure that every cabin crew member is to the high standard that the airline expects. Most cabin crew ab-initio courses are between six and eight weeks long and concentrate on safety training; only a very small element is based on service. The Singapore Airlines training is double that of most airlines.
The four-month training session is one of the longest and most rigorous in the industry. Lessons begin in the classroom and are applied throughout the course, with students giving regular presentations on what they’ve learned. The content is quite comprehensive, covering a wide breadth of knowledge, including food and beverage expertise, grooming etiquette, first aid, passenger handling, and safety protocols. Students are even taught how to pick items off the ground and walk upstairs in an elegant manner.
2. ANA All Nippon Airways

Air Nippon Airways (ANA) took second place in the 2025 Skytrax rankings, cementing its position as one of the world’s premier airlines for cabin service.
ANA trains crew to maintain a professional and calm body language throughout the flight, regardless of situations. They also make a rigorous effort to ensure that cabin crew in premium classes are providing an exceptional experience by referring to passengers by their first names or last names, and through gestures like hand-written thank you notes at the end of flights.
The Japanese carrier’s approach emphasizes the cultural values of omotenashi (hospitality) and attention to detail that Japanese service is renowned for worldwide.
3. Cathay Pacific Airways

Cathay Pacific in third place represents the pinnacle of Hong Kong’s service standards, blending Eastern hospitality with international sophistication.
Cathay Pacific Airways blends its efficiency with modern hospitality to provide passengers with a great experience aboard flights. A training program for newly employed personnel teaches them crucial aspects about safety, cultural awareness, and a personalised customer service experience in a thoughtful but unobstructive manner. CX’s cabin crew are advised of tips to remember passenger preferences and remain attentive to their behaviour during long-haul flights in order to enhance the level of personalisation on the flight, especially in business and first classes.
4. Garuda Indonesia

Garuda Indonesia and EVA Air rounded out the top five, securing fourth and fifth places respectively. Both airlines have built reputations for delivering outstanding service, with Garuda Indonesia being lauded for its hospitality and warm in-flight experience.
Garuda Indonesia has received many awards over the years for having the world’s best cabin crew, and I’d largely agree. While the carrier’s product has otherwise slipped quite a bit, I’ve found Garuda Indonesia flight attendants to consistently be very friendly and professional. Admittedly that probably largely reflects that Indonesia has a great service culture.
Garuda Indonesia prides itself on offering a genuine, warm, and sincere experience to passengers on board flights with a touch of traditional Indonesian culture and hospitality. They are trained to maintain calm and tranquillity during their interactions with passengers, and to provide them with the best possible standard of service and hospitality irrespective of their class of travel.
5. EVA Air

EVA Air rounded out the top five, securing fourth and fifth places respectively, representing the best of Taiwanese hospitality and service standards.
Taiwan is a competitive aviation market, and I’d argue that EVA Air is the best of the airlines there in terms of service. I’ve found EVA Air flight attendants to consistently be very detail oriented, friendly, and professional. While China Airlines and Starlux Airlines also often have great service, it seems to me like EVA Air is a bit more consistent in terms of service delivery.
EVA Air is well known for its refined and considerate cabin crew service, blending traditional Taiwanese hospitality with global standards of professionalism.
The Asian Advantage
Interestingly, the top ten featured cabin crew all from Asia, with Japan Airlines, STARLUX Airlines, and Malaysia Airlines all making the grade. This dominance reflects the strong service culture and emphasis on hospitality that characterizes many Asian societies.
The Methodology Behind the Rankings
The Skytrax World Airline Awards are one of the most respected accolades in the aviation industry, offering passengers a chance to vote for their favorite airlines across a variety of categories. This year’s survey saw an impressive 22.3 million travelers from around the world share their experiences, with over 325 airlines being evaluated.
What This Means for Travelers
In my experience, Singapore Airlines flight attendants just operate on a completely different level, notes an experienced aviation journalist. The consistency of service quality across these top-ranked airlines means that passengers can have high confidence in the level of care and attention they’ll receive.
Looking Forward
As Singapore Airlines continues to focus on providing exceptional customer service, the airline is poised to maintain its leadership in the industry. This recognition from the Skytrax World Airline Awards only reinforces the airline’s position as a global leader in aviation service.
The 2025 rankings demonstrate that exceptional flight attendant service isn’t just about following procedures, it’s about creating memorable experiences through genuine care, cultural sensitivity, and professional excellence. For travelers prioritizing service quality, these five airlines represent the gold standard of what cabin crew service can achieve when airlines invest properly in training, culture, and employee retention.
The dominance of Asian carriers in these rankings reflects not just individual airline excellence, but broader cultural values that prioritize hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care for guests, qualities that translate seamlessly to the unique challenges of providing service at 35,000 feet.
