Car Week in Monterey, California, should be a bucket list event for every car enthusiast, and The Quail is among the best of the best events you can attend during that time. The Quail is a popular location for enthusiasts and press alike, with many automotive manufacturers unveiling new vehicles throughout the day. This year, the Gordon Murray Group has announced that it will be displaying not one but two of its new supercars.
Fresh from the British supercar company’s Special Vehicles division, the first of these two cars will be a bespoke customer commission, and the second a special design from the Special Vehicles team themselves. No further details are planned to be released, leaving us stewing with anticipation.
The Next Chapter for Gordon Murray Group

The Gordon Murray Group is a smaller British supercar and hypercar manufacturer, led by Gordon Murray himself. You may know him from his work on some of the most famous designs in automotive history, such as the McLaren F1.
His current works stand on their own, with just as much performance and design prowess. Beyond the McLaren F1, Murray also played a pivotal role in Brabham’s Formula 1 success and has been a vocal proponent of lightweight, analog driving in an increasingly digital era. His designs reflect a philosophy that prioritizes connection to the car—and the road—above all else.
The Special Vehicles division exists to push boundaries in design and performance, often working directly with customers to build one-off or ultra-limited models that reflect individual tastes and cutting-edge technology. It’s a place where engineering meets art and where Gordon Murray’s vision is free to evolve beyond traditional production constraints.
While we don’t know much about the new vehicles being offered by the brand, the announcement comes at the tail end of production for their most recent, exclusive hypercar. The last of the T.50, which was planned for an exclusive production run of only 100 units, is scheduled to be completed at the end of July.
Gordon Murray Group at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Ahead of The Quail event in August, the Gordon Murray Group is preparing a lineup of some of its most iconic vehicles to celebrate 60 years of car design by the company’s founder, Professor Gordon Murray CBE at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
“I can barely believe it’s been 60 years I’ve been designing and engineering race and road cars—I can’t wait to reminisce with the thousands of fans at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Gordon Murray Special Vehicles double debut that follows just a month later will offer customers old and new even more ways to be part of our celebration of cars and driving,” shares Professor Murray.
The list includes several McLaren F1 GTRs, two GMA T.50s, a GMA T.33, and many more iconic vehicles in automotive engineering and design with which Professor Murray was involved.
