A Florida Keys deputy went to a hospital Tuesday with a man who had just been taken into custody. The visit ended with the deputy needing treatment, too.
The man had been found naked in a private swimming pool in Marathon after deputies were called about someone walking nude through a neighborhood, according to CBS Miami.
Deputies say he became combative at the pool, prompting them to use a Taser before taking him into custody.
Then came the bite. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Rochan Rock Jean of Tavernier, allegedly bit a deputy on the arm after being taken to Fishermen’s Hospital.
Second Call
It was not Jean’s first encounter with deputies that day.
Earlier Tuesday, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was called to a business in Marathon after Jean was reported acting strangely. He was clothed during that encounter, and the business asked deputies to trespass him from the property.
Around 12:45 p.m., deputies were called out again, this time to the area of 52nd Street for a report of a naked man walking around in public. They eventually located Jean without clothes in a swimming pool on private property.
Deputies say Jean became combative, and they used a Taser to take him into custody before transporting him to Fishermen’s Hospital.
At the hospital, Jean allegedly bit a deputy on the arm. The deputy required medical attention for the injury.
Jean faces charges of battery on a law-enforcement officer and criminal mischief.
