“This is Wild. Can’t Make This Up”: Highway Crash Hit-and-Run Caught on Camera, and It’s Leaving Everyone Confused

Four Suspects Took 'Hit and Run' a Little Too Serious as They Run Away From Highway Crash

While scrolling through TikTok, I came across one of the wilder hit-and-run car accidents I’ve ever seen in my life. At first glance, it quite literally looks like the suspects ran away on foot to avoid being confronted.

However, even though it was funny to see the suspects almost jogging along the side of the highway, it was when the camera turned to the cars that I realized just how much damage had occurred.

The suspects seen running away had allegedly caused a three-car crash along the highway. The first car that you can see appears to have one of its front tires collapsed inwards.

The two other cars involved were a bit further back, one with obvious damage to its front bumper and the other with less noticeable damage and scratches. I’m so curious to know what actually happened.

Suspects Apparently Believed Cardio Was the Best Escape Plan

@karans_wolrd Actual hit and run on foot. This is wild. Cant make this up. This is something you see on tv. #hitandrun #collisionrepair #progressive #geico @Progressive ♬ original sound – karan shah

The video has gone viral on TikTok for its absurdity, especially in the fact that whoever the drivers who caused the crash decided that running away was their best option. It wasn’t detailed exactly where they were on the stretch of road, though it does appear as though the suspects are running towards Exit 5B.

In the short clip of the suspects running away, you can see that there is four of them. It isn’t made clear initially if the four of them were in a single car.

However, the damage appears to have involved three cars in total. So, it is very likely that two suspects were in one car and two were in the other.

Even the Person Filming Couldn’t Believe What They Were Seeing

The person who posted the video itself seemed just as surprised by the situation, writing in the caption, “Actual hit and run on foot. This is wild. Can’t make this up. This is something you see on TV.”

In the hashtags, the original poster tagged Progressive and Geico, asking them for help. It is unclear if either of these companies represents the driver’s insurance.

Hopefully, he is able to get help of some kind for this, as it appears that the damage is pretty extensive. The original poster hasn’t made any updates as of this publication.

Commenters Had Plenty of Questions About the Escape Strategy

Commenters were also surprised by the video, with one of the very top comments reading, “I’m confused what is running going to do?😭😭” Similarly, another person wrote, “Where exactly are they planning to go?”

Some people admitted to thinking that the video was just a joke, with another top comment reading, “I thought you were joking, I thought they were just jogging past you at first😭.”

Other people were more focused on the safety of the driver who posted the video in the first place, writing, “I hope you are physically okay! On another note, congratulations you just got a lawsuit and new car! Sue each person individually with your car insurance and get a lawyer! Silverman McDonald and Friedman is in Newark and Wilmington!”

Judging simply by this video, it doesn’t appear as though anyone was injured as a result of this incident. It has also not been reported whether the suspects have been apprehended.
