An interesting video popped up on Facebook featuring a woman, a male accomplice, and a loaner car provided to her by a Mini Cooper dealership for an unknown reason. In it, she claims that the dealership gave her a loaner that she was unable to drive because she does not know how to.

As a result, the internet slammed her and her boyfriend for not knowing how to proceed, with many leaving rather nasty comments. However, what those commenters did not know is that the video was really just for laughs and that she does know how to drive a manual.

She made a follow-up video showing the car that she drives regularly, revealing it to be a Mini Cooper R56. Not only that, but she shows photos of herself with the car from when she first purchased it to prove that she did not simply teach herself stick for the sake of the video.

The problem is that the original video does not really imply that she knew how to drive the vehicle, especially considering her composure throughout. The man in the car with her also plays along with this narrative, further confusing new viewers who do not already know about the car she drives.

What Did People Say About the Mini Cooper R56?

In the original video above, the woman, known as Mazer Lazer on Facebook, says that she received a loaner car while at the Mini Cooper dealership and wanted to show it to viewers. When she enters the vehicle and tries to start the car, she immediately looks confused.

She then tells viewers she discovered it was a manual and did not know how to drive that kind of car. However, the intended joke was the stereotype that women do not know how to drive manual-transmission vehicles.

Various commenters got this, with one of the top comments reading, “That is so funny. When I asked a dealer about a manual transmission, he promptly informed me that women didn’t know how to drive them and didn’t want them. I gave that man a ride he probably has never forgotten 🤣🤣🤣. I definitely prefer them.”

However, other commenters were a bit confused and left behind some rather nasty comments.

Woman Slams Back at Rude Commenters

Various comments were condemning the woman, with one reading, “When two women try to drive.” Similarly, another comment read, “Please, please, please tell me you went back in and got an automatic transmission. You will crash their car drifting backwards down a hill. This is not something to learn on.”

Mazer Lazer ended up posting a follow-up video that further explains her position. The car that she dubbed a ‘loaner vehicle’ in the previous video was actually her very own car, a 2013 Mini Cooper R56, outfitted with a purple interior trim and hubcaps.

To further prove that she knows how to drive it, she takes the car on the road with a camera facing the dashboard. She can clearly be seen shifting through gears and understanding what she’s doing.

More Reactions To Manual Drive Sarcasm

Even more commenters left their opinions in the replies of the follow-up video, with one person writing, “Apparently sarcasm and fun cars just aren’t for women 🙄😏 Those who get it, got it! I was cackling. I’m not sure how you kept a straight face for the video. I’ll ride at dawn if need be for those bung holes who don’t have anything nice to say! 🤺”

Other comments came to Mazer Lazer’s defense, reading, “Those comments make me wanna throw hands for you! 💪🏽” Similarly, another read, “I wanna learn. Come by Dunkin Go and I’ll buy you a drink for your expertise 🤣”

The video is still gaining traction on her profile, even though it is primarily about various recipes she’s made. Hopefully, she won’t have to ever undergo the internet coming together against her about her car ever again.
