The very first production Ford Bronco Raptor has found another owner, and this time it didn’t take a $350,000 bid to get the keys. Serial number 00001 has just sold on Bring a Trailer with practically delivery mileage still showing.
The digital odometer reads only 99 miles, which means this Bronco has spent very little time doing what Ford engineered it to do. There probably aren’t many Raptors that have lived an easier life.
Its significance goes well beyond mileage. This is the first production Bronco Raptor, wearing serial number 00001 and finished in the appropriately loud Code Orange paint.
The auction concluded on September 24 with a winning bid of $105,000. That’s a fraction of the $350,000 it commanded when it crossed the Barrett-Jackson auction block for charity in 2022, although comparing those two prices directly doesn’t tell the whole story.
This Bronco Once Sold For $350,000
The first Bronco Raptor’s original auction wasn’t an ordinary market transaction. Its $350,000 sale at Barrett-Jackson in 2022 benefited the National Forest Foundation and Outward Bound, meaning the charitable element undoubtedly played a role in the bidding.
Four years later, Bring a Trailer provided a better look at what a collector was willing to pay for the truck on the conventional auction market. The final $105,000 bid still represents a substantial premium for a 2022 Bronco Raptor, with its serial number, history, and extremely low mileage separating it from typical examples.
The truck also comes with an accident-free Carfax report and a clean Tennessee title. The title reportedly lists its mileage as actual.
418 HP And Barely Broken In
Under the hood sits Ford’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6, factory rated at 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque. It’s connected to a 10-speed automatic, dual-range transfer case, and electronically locking front and rear differentials.
Raptor hardware includes 37-inch BFGoodrich tires wrapped around forged 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, Fox live-valve dampers, and Ford’s HOSS suspension. There’s also a disconnecting front stabilizer bar, metal bash plates, and seven G.O.A.T. drive modes.
This example was further equipped with the Lux Package and Interior Carbon Fiber Package. Inside are Blue Onyx leather and suede upholstery, a 12-inch infotainment display, Bang & Olufsen audio, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera system.
Too Special To Take Off-Road?
A 99-mile Bronco Raptor presents its next owner with an interesting dilemma. Ford built this thing to blast across rough terrain, yet putting thousands of miles and a healthy collection of trail scars on serial number 00001 would erase much of what makes this particular example unusual.
Then again, keeping 418 horsepower, 37-inch tires, and all that suspension travel parked in a garage seems almost equally wrong. Whoever placed the $105,000 winning bid now gets to make that decision. Let us know in the comments what you would do.
