A traffic stop in Texas ended with deputies discovering the driver was wanted on three separate felony warrants, all for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office pulled over a vehicle in the 3400 block of FM 1960 Road W on Sept. 10. They identified the driver as Kenesha Walker.

During the stop, deputies ran her information and found three open warrants tied to aggravated assault charges.

Walker was then promptly arrested after the traffic stop and booked into the Harris County Jail.

The Details Behind the Warrants Are Still Unclear

Constable Herman’s office didn’t release much more information about what led to those three warrants. There’s nothing yet on who the alleged victims were or what weapons may have been used. There was also no word on what led to the initial traffic stop.

Walker’s bond hadn’t been set at the time of the announcement and remained pending in the 176th District Court.

The Charges

Under Texas Penal Code Section 22.02, aggravated assault happens when someone commits an assault and either causes serious bodily injury or uses a deadly weapon during the incident. It’s typically a second-degree felony, carrying two to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine, though certain circumstances can push it up to a first-degree felony.

Since the warrants only list the charge type, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, there’s no public information yet on what actually happened in any of the three cases or what weapon was allegedly used.

Deputies Used the Incident as a Reminder

Constable Herman pointed to the arrest as an example of what a simple traffic stop can turn up.

“Proactive traffic enforcement continues to help our deputies identify and apprehend wanted suspects,” he said. “This arrest removed an individual wanted on three serious felony warrants from our streets.”

Walker remains in custody on all three warrants, according to the constable’s office.

Reactions Were Blunt

Some comments on the post questioned how someone could accumulate three separate warrants for the same type of charge before finally being taken into custody. One wrote that the second and third warrants “should have been avoided if she was arrested for the first.”

For now, the only confirmed details are the three outstanding warrants and the September 10 arrest itself. Walker’s current bond status hasn’t been made public.

As with any arrest, this is still just an allegation. Walker is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
