The six-digit odometer displays approximately 9,000 original miles. Supporting documentation includes the original window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, service records, and a clean Montana title.
Before being listed, the underside was cleaned using dry ice, revealing what appears to be a remarkably well-preserved chassis after nearly five decades.

While the standard E21 already delivered balanced rear-wheel-drive handling, this example benefits from several factory upgrades that enthusiasts continue to seek.
The original buyer specified Recaro sport seats, a three-spoke sport steering wheel, and a limited-slip differential. Power comes from BMW’s fuel-injected 2.0-liter M10 inline-four producing 110 horsepower and 112 lb-ft of torque, paired with a four-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels.
Other equipment includes factory air conditioning, a sunroof, turbine-style 13-inch alloy wheels, front disc brakes, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and hand-crank windows that reflect the car’s straightforward late-1970s design.
Carefully Maintained Over The Years
Although the mileage is exceptionally low, the car hasn’t simply been left sitting. The listing notes that several maintenance items have been addressed in recent years to keep it roadworthy.
Work completed since 2022 includes replacing the battery, thermostat, coolant hoses, drive belts, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, alternator bushings, and fuel filter. The warm-up regulator was also replaced in 2023, while the transmission and differential fluids have been changed.
