Crashing any expensive car is painful enough, but damaging a Bugatti Chiron takes things to an entirely different level. One unfortunate driver in Miami discovered that as a blacked-out example of the French hypercar ended up stranded beside a road.
Footage shared on Instagram by Only in Dade shows the Chiron sitting awkwardly on a curb, with visible damage to several parts. The incident is said to have happened earlier this week on wet roads.
Exactly what caused the crash is not known, although the hypercar appears to have slid or spun before coming to rest near a large tree. Fortunately for the owner, the car seems to have stopped short of hitting it.
With just 500 Chirons produced worldwide, we don’t often see a damaged one. Considering the car’s multimillion-dollar value and complicated engineering, getting this example back into shape could be an expensive undertaking.
The Chiron Took A Serious Hit

The footage shows the Chiron’s rear end resting on the curb, with its passenger-side rear wheel sitting at, well, let’s just say a rather unnatural angle, suggesting potentially significant suspension damage. A proper inspection would be needed to establish the full extent.
The front bumper and splitter also appear cracked, while one of the front wheels may have sustained damage. Components underneath the car could have been affected as well, particularly given how it came to a stop.
We can’t determine the total damage from the available footage, and no official repair estimate has been released. However, even relatively minor repairs to a Bugatti can become extraordinarily expensive.
Fixing A Bugatti Isn’t Exactly Straightforward

The Chiron’s sophisticated construction and specialized components make repairs much more complicated than those of an ordinary performance car. Sourcing replacement parts and finding technicians qualified to work on the hypercar can also present challenges.
Automotive YouTuber Mat Armstrong has demonstrated those difficulties while rebuilding a damaged Chiron Pur Sport. His project has shown how restrictive access to factory parts can complicate independent repairs. Funnily enough, Armstrong actually commented on the Instagram post with two words: “Cash waiting…”
An Expensive Mistake, Whatever Happened
At the time of writing, there’s no confirmed explanation for the crash or information about whether anyone was injured. We also don’t know the owner’s identity and the Chiron’s eventual repair plans.
The car may ultimately be restored through Bugatti’s authorized repair network, although that hasn’t been confirmed. Whatever happens next, this is one parking spot its owner probably wishes they’d never found.
