Buying one of the final Lexus LC 500s seems like the sort of decision you’d want to enjoy for a while, but that’s clearly not the case for the owner of this 2026 Inspiration Series.
According to its Cars & Bids listing, the seller purchased the car new in August 2026. Roughly two months and only 200 miles later, the Lexus is already sitting on an auction site looking for its next owner.
There isn’t an obvious problem explaining the quick turnaround. The Carfax report is clean, the seller reports no notable modifications, and the car has covered so little distance that it hasn’t even required its first service.
The seller hasn’t publicly explained why they’re parting with it so quickly, so that would be pure speculation on our part. What we can say with certainty is that the car itself is unusual: this is a limited-production LC 500 Inspiration Series with only 200 coupes built for North America.
It’s One Of Only 200 Inspiration Series Coupes

This is a 2026 LC 500 Inspiration Series, finished in the edition-specific Smoke Matte Gray with a contrasting black-and-white interior. A plaque on the center console identifies it as number 426 of 550 Inspiration Series cars produced for North America.
Only 200 of those were coupes, according to the listing. This example also gets 21-inch forged wheels, a carbon-fiber roof, a limited-slip differential, and active rear steering, along with heated and ventilated seats, a head-up display, and Mark Levinson audio.
The seller has applied paint protection film to the exterior panels and protection to the cabin, while the windows have been tinted. Otherwise, the LC is presented essentially as Lexus built it.
The Naturally Aspirated V8 Is Still The Main Attraction
Under that long hood sits Lexus’ naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8, producing 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. Power reaches the rear wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Those numbers don’t make the LC 500 the quickest grand tourer of its era, although outright acceleration was never its only appeal.
Lexus quotes a 4.4-second run from zero to 60 mph for the coupe, accompanied by the kind of naturally aspirated V8 soundtrack that is becoming increasingly difficult to find in a new luxury car.
The Inspiration Series combines that drivetrain with distinctive styling and Smoke Matte Gray paint. It isn’t exactly subtle, yet it suits the LC’s concept-car-like proportions surprisingly well.
The Auction Is Already Getting Interesting

The window sticker totaled $123,889 when the car was new. At the time of writing, bidding had already reached $128,000 with 10 days remaining before the October 17 conclusion.
That doesn’t guarantee the seller will walk away with more than the original sticker price. Auction fees, financing costs, taxes, and other ownership expenses make the final economics a bit more complicated than simply subtracting one number from another.
Whatever motivated the sale, the next owner won’t have much evidence that someone else enjoyed the car first. At roughly 200 miles, this LC 500 Inspiration Series has barely had enough time to empty its first few tanks of gas.
