Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Frank Sloup posted a video to the office’s Facebook page that shows a pretty interesting traffic stop. Not only was the driver speeding, but his driver’s license was suspended, and he didn’t have any registration.
What’s worse is that he also didn’t have any insurance, which is also the reason why his license plate was suspended. Unfortunately, the driver was caught with three out of three offenses in Sloup’s line of sight.
Of course, Deputy Sloup handled the situation well, explaining everything the whole way. It just didn’t end too well for the driver.
However, even though the driver happened to be found with so many things wrong, Sloup still cut him a break. At least he had that going for him.
This Traffic Stop Just Kept Getting Worse for the Driver
Please give the following video just a second to load completely.
In the Facebook video, Deputy Frank Sloup stops an individual for speeding, going 66 mph in a 45 mph zone. Sloup also informed the driver that his license plate had been suspended because of a lack of insurance.
As a result, he asked the driver for his license and registration. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any registration, which, paired with no insurance, wasn’t the greatest look.
When Sloup got back into his car to assess things, he discovered that the driver’s license had also been suspended. With that, it meant that the driver did not have the privilege to drive and would not be able to move his vehicle from that spot.
This Driver Was Missing Everything Except an Excuse
Because he was not able to move the car, Sloup recommended asking a friend to pick the driver up. He also explained that because of how severe each of the violations was, he had the right to take the driver to jail.
However, he considered the hour-long drive to the station and the hour-long drive to his post and decided to give the other driver a break. However, he did decide to wait in the area for someone to come along and help the driver out.
Sloup then ended things by having the driver sign some documentation that requires he appear in court for this. At least he didn’t end up in a jail cell.
Frank Sloup Pulled Over a Speeder and Hit the Traffic Stop Jackpot
Plenty of commenters shamed the driver involved for the way he was caught. The very top comment reads, “If I had no license, no registration, no insurance, I’d be going 45 MPH on cruise.”
Similarly, another person wrote, “Why speed if you have a $1k ticket?” I can’t say I don’t agree with them, but Ii also feel terrible for the driver, considering he couldn’t get his insurance or registration due to financial hardships.
However, the clip is a reminder to always have the proper documentation for your license and vehicle updated and available in case an officer ever pulls you over.
