Pretend To Be Dom Toretto With This Hemi-Powered 1969 Dodge Charger From Fast Five

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a car from the Fast & Furious franchise, here’s an opportunity that deserves your attention. A genuine movie-used 1969 Dodge Charger from the 2011 film Fast Five has appeared on Bring a Trailer, complete with a legendary 426 Hemi V8 under its hood.

The Charger appeared in scenes set in Rio de Janeiro, where the film delivered some of the franchise’s most memorable automotive action. Unlike the glossy black muscle car associated with Dominic Toretto in the original movie, this example wears a decidedly rougher, more purposeful look.

Finished in matte gray with black accents, it looks like something built for street racing rather than a concours lawn. Its stripped-down interior, racing equipment, and aggressive stance only add to the appeal.

The car is currently being auctioned by a dealer in Florida, with bidding at $40,000 at the time of writing. Chances are its Hollywood history and Hemi power will attract further interest before the hammer falls.

One of this Charger’s biggest attractions is its 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, a name that carries some serious weight among Mopar enthusiasts. The engine features dual Edelbrock carburetors, four-into-one headers, and a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers.

Power reaches the rear wheels through an A727 three-speed automatic transmission, operated by a Sidewinder shifter. Although the auction listing doesn’t provide a horsepower figure, the combination promises the sort of old-school muscle-car character that suits this movie machine.

The Charger also rides on 20-inch multi-piece wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson Street Comp tires. Wilwood front disc brakes, a line-lock system, Koni dampers, and a hydraulic handbrake round out its performance-focused equipment.

The exterior features a black removable hood secured with exposed pins, a mesh grille concealing the headlights, and satin-black trim. It’s a distinctive appearance that sets this Charger apart from the more familiar black examples seen throughout the franchise.

Inside, luxury takes a back seat to function, with a roll cage, Beard racing seats, red Simpson harnesses, and custom aluminum panels. A Grant steering wheel and AutoMeter gauges complete the competition-inspired cabin.

There are also some quirks worth knowing about before placing a bid. The car has no odometer, and the seller notes that its trunk lid doesn’t latch, requiring added weights to hold it down.

The most important detail for prospective buyers might be found in the paperwork rather than under the hood. The Charger comes with an Ohio title carrying a salvage notation, something bidders should investigate carefully before committing.

Interestingly, the Ohio title lists 8,991 miles as actual mileage, although the Charger currently has no odometer. Prospective buyers should therefore verify the vehicle’s mileage history and supporting documentation.

Still, movie provenance, a genuine Hemi engine, and unmistakable muscle-car styling make this an intriguing auction. Whoever wins it will have a piece of Fast Five history in their garage, although keeping it locked away would seem almost criminal for a Charger built to look this mean.
