An SFMTA officer and a woman came to blows in a video that was captured on Treasure Island this week. In the clip, two women — an officer and a civilian — appear to be in the middle of a heated argument on the sidewalk. The verbal sparring quickly turned into a real brawl when the woman smacked the officer in the face.
From there, the details get a little hard to follow since the cameraman appeared to step into the fray as he told the officer not to hit the woman. The cameraman then accused the officer of assaulting him, while yelling that the officer was “getting sued.”
It looks like a few other SFMTA officers then stepped in to try to break up the fight. The video ended with the man behind the camera telling everyone that he had recorded the whole altercation, which was then posted online.
While the original clip has since been taken down, several media outlets have covered the story, including The Daily Source, which shared it on Instagram. The buzz about the video has even reached the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), which just announced it will investigate the incident.
The Authorities Aren’t Releasing Any Details

On Aug. 26, 2026, SFMTA told KTVU it would investigate the fight, which had occurred just one day prior to the announcement. However, news that they would be looking into what happened didn’t come with many other details, and it seems like SFPD is staying mum until they have more information about what went down.
That being said, SFMTA Streets Director Viktoriya Wise stood up for the Parking Control Officers in a statement shared by the outlet. “Parking Control Officers have one of the toughest jobs in the city as they enforce our parking laws to ensure that our streets remain safe and functional,” Wise said. “Violence against anyone in our city, including SFMTA employees, is unacceptable.”
Wise also shared that SFMTA would cooperate with SFPD as part of the investigation.
There’s Another Video That Shows the Aftermath of the Fight

The Instagram account rbnonote_sf appears to show what happened after the fight ended from the perspective of the cameraman and the woman who were part of the fight.
In the clip, another officer can be heard telling the cameraman he was facing misdemeanor charges, including battery and delaying SFMTA officers from performing their duties. That being said, the officer in this clip pointed out that the original officer didn’t want to press charges.
There’s No Update Regarding the Charges
The case is still under investigation, so it’s unlikely that any details will be released until SFPD has finished looking into what happened. However, if charges are eventually filed against the people in the video, they could be looking at more than just assault and battery. That’s because Justia notes that SFMTA officers have special protections under the law.
That means charges could come along with extra fines and jail time, which could amount to up to six months behind bars and $2,000.
