Nissan’s Motorsport Wing Just Did Something Bizarre With It’s Iconic Cars—Put Them on Your Teeth

Self-expression comes in many forms, from piercings, tattoos, and jewelry to clothing. These are all ways people can showcase their personality, identity, and the things they love.

The hip-hop culture also introduced another form of self-expression: decorating your teeth with jewelry. Known as grillz, these removable pieces are typically fitted over the front row of teeth and can be made from materials such as silver, platinum, or gold.

Now, Nissan’s performance and motorsports division, NISMO, has embraced the trend by teaming up with independent jewelry studio LOUD MOUTH LDN, based in southeast London, to create a set of handcrafted grillz inspired by the front profiles of iconic Nissan cars, including the Skyline.

Unlike traditional grillz that often feature gemstones or the shine of precious metals, the NISMO and LOUD MOUTH LDN creations stand out with bold colors and designs inspired by Nissan’s performance heritage, grabbing attention the moment their wearer opens their mouth.

The four-piece collection takes visual inspiration from some of Nissan’s most recognizable performance machines, including the Formula E GEN3 Evo race car, Skyline GT-R R34, R34 Pennzoil, and Z GT500. Their distinctive styling cues have been translated into miniature wearable designs, giving each piece a clear connection to its automotive inspiration.

The project brings together NISMO’s motorsport and design heritage with the craftsmanship of LOUD MOUTH LDN. Rather than simply replicating the vehicles, the collaboration interprets their defining details through a completely different creative medium.

The collection was unveiled as the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship headed into its final two races in London. People attending the Formula E season finale in London on August 16 will have the chance to win a bespoke piece designed by LOUD MOUTH LDN.

Reece Garcia, founder & director of LOUD MOUTH LDN, said more such collaborations could happen in the future. He said:

“This collaboration was something completely different for us. We enjoy pushing ourselves creatively, and it was a chance to take what we normally do and apply it to a totally different world. Grillz are one of the only pieces of jewellery that are completely built around the individual, giving people a really unique way to express who they are. For this project, rather than starting with letters or logos, we looked at the shapes and details of the cars and translated them into something that works as jewellery. That’s something we’ll definitely keep exploring in future projects.” [sic]

What do you think about NISMO’s grillz- is it a creative form of self-expression or a bit of an overkill when it comes to showing your love for your favorite car? Let us know in the comments.
