Last year, Mercedes-AMG previewed a future four-door production sports car through the CONCEPT AMG GT XX. The upcoming Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is the first series-production model based on the new AMG.EA high-performance architecture, and Mercedes-Benz USA is already presenting it as a forthcoming 2027 model. The brand has now revealed the interior ahead of the highly anticipated full reveal expected later this year.
Like most existing fully electric Mercedes products on the market, the reveal confirms that the new electrified AMG four-door will have a chic interior with a dashboard dominated by screens, but dig a little deeper and you’ll see that Mercedes has hidden a few clues that give hints about what to expect under the skin of Affalterbach’s first in-house EV.
Mercedes-AMG Triples Down on the Screens

The first thing that jumps at you about the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door’s interior is that it’s dominated by screens. There’s a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch multimedia display that’s ergonomically angled toward the driver for intuitive operation and optimum readability, and if you tick a box on the order sheet, an exclusive 14-inch passenger display is also available.
Rather than feeling like screens have simply been added for the sake of spectacle, the setup appears intended to support the driver with quick access to key vehicle data and functions, which should help the GT 4-Door Coupe strike a better balance between digital sophistication and real usability. Mercedes-AMG also emphasizes a balanced control philosophy that combines tactile and haptic inputs, the touchscreen, and voice commands, underscoring the brand’s effort to make the GT 4-Door feel more driver-focused and intuitive than a purely touch-based interface.
AMG Character Beyond the Screens

Look past the displays, and the AMG GT 4-Door’s interior starts to show the driver-focused features and premium touches that define the rest of the cabin. The AMG DNA can be seen in the striking round climate control air vents with a chain-link-inspired outer-nozzle design at both ends of the dash as well as the flat-bottomed AMG Performance steering wheel, which features roller and rocker controls that allow the driver to interact with the infotainment system and other features without taking their eyes off the road. The steering wheel also comes with two round AMG Drive Unit buttons with brilliant color displays and modern icons, allowing the driver to intuitively select the various drive modes and other key functions.
The AMG GT 4-Door Coupe also features a unique center console design with two wireless charging pads, two illuminated cup holders, and—a key highlight of the interior design—three rotary controls. Response Control affects how the electric motors react to accelerator pedal commands, Agility Control affects cornering behavior, and the Traction Control has a nine-stage system that allows the driver to determine the level of computer intervention they want. Collectively, these controls are known as the AMG Race Engineer Control Unit, and they’re supposed to give drivers more control over the car’s character to improve the overall driving experience.
Grand Touring Comfort, AMG Style

Speaking of the driving experience, the new car is a four-door grand tourer, which means it’s supposed to cover long distances without the driver and passengers getting too tired. As such, the car has newly developed front seats designed to offer high lateral support, and buyers can upgrade to even better AMG Performance seats. The standard rear seat configuration is effectively a four-seat layout with individual rear seats, while a more conventional five-seat configuration is optional. Rear passengers also get recesses in the floor that create ample legroom and a small touchscreen behind the center console to control various elements.
The interior also maintains the brand’s reputation for offering maximum sophistication and advanced tech. The MBUX infotainment system is intelligent and intuitive, and the sophisticated high-resolution ambient lighting system with adjustable color schemes allows customers to create a personalized atmosphere in the car. A standard one-piece panoramic glass roof creates a spacious feeling in the interior, but buyers can use the available Sky Control feature to switch from transparent to opaque, controlling the amount of external light that comes into the vehicle.
There’s More Than Meets the Eye

While much of the reveal centers around the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe’s interior luxury and technological elements, a closer look reveals a few details that give us clues about some of the technical specifications of the car. The first clue is in the display graphics, which appear to reference AMG’s axial-flux motor technology. Mercedes-AMG has already confirmed that axial-flux motors will enter series production in 2026, and the 2025 CONCEPT AMG GT XX used three of them with a peak output of over 1,000 kW. What that means for the production GT 4-Door Coupe remains unconfirmed because Mercedes-AMG has not yet published official output or range figures for the road car.
Although Mercedes-AMG remains tight-lipped about the design and powertrain specifications, the interior reveal suggests that a full reveal is not too far away. We can only speculate for now, but if the company can get the performance, price, and fun in the right balance, the next generation of the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe could be a winner.
