Supercars aren’t exactly known for gentle ownership costs, but this 2025 McLaren Artura takes depreciation to a whole new level, and it’s downright painful. After covering only 1,300 miles, the plug-in hybrid supercar sold on Bring a Trailer for $203,300.
That figure may not sound too bad, but it looks considerably less impressive beside its original window sticker. With factory options included, the Artura carried a suggested retail price of $305,733 when new, meaning the difference between MSRP and its latest sale price is a staggering $102,433.
In percentage terms, the McLaren sold for roughly 66.5 percent of its original sticker price, meaning the seller took a depreciation hit of around 33.5 percent despite the odometer barely having enough mileage to qualify the car as properly broken in.
There are some important caveats, however. The car was originally leased rather than purchased outright by its current owner, so the $102,433 difference shouldn’t automatically be interpreted as the owner’s personal cash loss, and taxes, lease terms, fees, and other costs aren’t reflected by simply comparing MSRP with auction price.
A $305,733 McLaren For $203,300
The Artura was leased new through McLaren Greenwich in Connecticut and was subsequently offered on consignment through a Bring a Trailer Local Partner. Bidding concluded on August 25 at $203,300, with the car carrying a Florida title and a lien that must be satisfied before ownership can be transferred.
Its condition doesn’t immediately explain the enormous discount. Bring a Trailer states that the accompanying Carfax report shows no reported collisions or other damage, while the digital odometer displays just 1,300 miles.
The only service-related item specifically mentioned in the listing is a replacement 12-volt battery installed in April 2026. Otherwise, this is essentially a lightly used example of McLaren’s current-generation hybrid supercar.
This Wasn’t A Bare-Bones Artura
Part of that original $305,733 sticker came from an extensive collection of options. The exterior is finished in striking MSO Amethyst Black and features carbon-fiber mirror caps and a carbon rear spoiler, along with McLaren’s Stealth Badge Pack.
It also received the TechLux interior theme, Practicality Package, Technology Package, and Gloss Black Interior Package. Other equipment includes a sports exhaust, front-axle lift, heated and power-adjustable Comfort seats, and a Bowers & Wilkins audio system.
Silver-finished forged wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires. Carbon-ceramic brakes with orange calipers complete a specification that certainly doesn’t read like an unwanted base model.
There’s Still Serious Performance Behind The Seats
McLaren introduced the Artura as the successor to the 570S and built it around the McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture. Its powertrain combines a mid-mounted 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with an axial-flux electric motor and a 7.4-kWh lithium-ion battery.
Combined output stands at 690 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque, sent exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. McLaren’s hybrid system also allows limited electric-only operation, with this example’s listing quoting up to 11 miles of battery-powered driving.
Performance remains firmly in supercar territory. The Artura can sprint to 60 mph in roughly three seconds, meaning the second owner isn’t sacrificing much speed for that six-figure discount.
The Used Buyer Gets A Very Different Deal
This sale serves as a reminder that expensive factory options rarely return their full cost on the secondary market. Personalization can make a supercar spectacular when new, but in the end, it’s used buyers who ultimately decide exactly how much those extras are really worth.
For someone shopping secondhand, however, that depreciation is rather appealing. The winning bidder effectively secured an almost new, low-mileage, 690-hp McLaren with a $305,733 original sticker for just over $203,000. A great deal? I’d call it a steal!
