Selling a nearly new performance car usually suggests something went wrong. Perhaps the owner discovered the payments were painful, the car wasn’t what they expected, or circumstances simply changed.
None of those explanations quite fit this 2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. It has covered only about 3,800 miles, packs a supercharged V8 and a six-speed manual, and carries the expensive Precision Package.
The Cadillac is currently up for auction on Cars & Bids, where its original $125,110 window sticker and clean Carfax report make it an intriguing proposition. It isn’t perfect, although none of its disclosed flaws explain why the owner wants out.
The actual reason is wonderfully simple… he doesn’t like the Deep Space Metallic paint. The seller says he’s replacing it with another Blackwing in a color much better suited to his tastes.
Everyone Loves The Color Except Its Owner
Asked in the Cars & Bids comments why he was selling, the owner explained that the color was the main reason. Although other people apparently love Deep Space Metallic, he doesn’t, describing himself as more of an “orange, yellow, Kawasaki Green guy.”
Cadillac initially wouldn’t accommodate his requests for a more unusual color. Once the company’s Curated program opened up a much broader palette, however, the opportunity to order another Blackwing proved irresistible.
Since owning two CT5-V Blackwings wasn’t financially realistic, the Deep Space Metallic car had to go. At the time of the listing provided, bidding stood at $86,000, with the auction scheduled to end September 18.
This Isn’t Exactly A Basic Blackwing
The seller didn’t skimp when ordering the first car. Its $125,110 sticker includes the Precision Package, along with 19-inch Satin Graphite Dark Finish wheels, Magnetic Ride Control, an electronic limited-slip differential, an Ultra View sunroof, and heated and ventilated front seats.
Under the hood sits Cadillac’s 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8, producing 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. Better still, this example sends everything to the rear wheels through the desirable six-speed manual transmission.
The owner replaced its original Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires at just 222 miles with Pilot Sport 4S rubber, citing better wet-weather usability, and the original tires aren’t included.
There Are A Few Flaws
Despite its low mileage, the Cadillac has several disclosed issues. The listing notes an indentation above the grille, missing sections of the upper windshield gasket, and gauges that occasionally reset from Track to Tour mode.
A June service record also says the front-seat bolster massagers and lumbar adjustment functions were inoperative. The seller says Cadillac dealers indicated the windshield gasket repair may be covered under warranty, although replacement would require windshield removal. The car also has a loan that will need to be satisfied as part of the sale.
Still, the reason this 668-hp manual sedan is changing hands isn’t its mechanical specification or those relatively minor issues. Its owner simply wanted a brighter Blackwing badly enough to start over.
