Leaked GTA 6 Map Appears To Reveal A Dedicated Race Track

Grand Theft Auto has always had a complicated relationship with responsible motoring. Players have spent decades stealing sports cars, launching them over intersections and turning public roads into impromptu racing circuits, yet the series has never really given enthusiasts a proper asphalt road course.

That could finally change with Grand Theft Auto VI. A recently leaked, zoomed-out map of Leonida appears to show a dedicated racing circuit, potentially giving players somewhere purpose-built to explore the limits of the game’s inevitably enormous collection of cars.

The circuit is believed to be associated with Port Gellhorn and has been referred to by fans as Gellhorn International Raceway. References to a Gellhorn raceway reportedly date back to the major 2022 GTA 6 leak, while eagle-eyed fans have also spotted apparent Gellhorn International branding in official promotional material.

Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed the circuit or its final layout. The latest map comes from unofficial leaked material, meaning details could be inaccurate, incomplete, or changed before the finished game arrives.

It Looks Like A Proper Road Course

If the leaked map is legitimate, the facility appears considerably more ambitious than the racing locations featured in previous GTA titles. The series has included ovals, dirt tracks, and street-based racing routes before, but nothing quite resembling a full-scale permanent road course.

Its layout appears technical, incorporating multiple corners, substantial straights, and the kind of configuration you’d expect from a dedicated motorsports facility. Online mapping communities have been attempting to reconstruct the circuit using information gathered from leaks and officially released footage.

The zoomed-out nature of the latest image makes precise comparisons difficult. Even so, it appears to support the long-running theory that Rockstar has included a genuine racing complex somewhere in GTA 6’s Florida-inspired world.

Sebring Could Be Part Of The Inspiration

Given Leonida’s obvious Florida influence, Sebring International Raceway immediately comes to mind. Port Gellhorn’s location and the apparent presence of long straights have encouraged comparisons with the legendary Florida circuit, although the leaked configuration doesn’t appear to be a direct recreation.

Some enthusiasts analyzing the layout have instead suggested Rockstar may have borrowed characteristics from several famous tracks. Comparisons have been made with sections of Sebring, Monza, and even the Nürburgring.

Rockstar’s fictional locations traditionally combine recognizable real-world influences rather than reproducing cities and landmarks with complete accuracy, so a fictional circuit inspired by several famous venues would certainly fit within the series.

The Facility Could Offer More Than Circuit Racing

Perhaps the most interesting possibility is that the road course could form part of a larger motorsports complex. Fan analysis has suggested there may also be space for a drag strip or other automotive activities nearby.

A dedicated facility would give Rockstar plenty of opportunities for races, time trials, and driving challenges in the main game. It could become even more significant for whatever eventually succeeds or expands upon GTA Online, where vehicle customization and racing have developed into major parts of the experience.

There’s also the simple appeal of having somewhere to drive properly. GTA players have assembled enormous collections of modified supercars and sports cars for years, yet testing them usually involves dodging traffic, lampposts, and police cruisers on public streets.

GTA 6 Could Be Great News For Car Enthusiasts

Cars have become increasingly sophisticated throughout the Grand Theft Auto series. GTA V and GTA Online eventually accumulated hundreds of vehicles, ranging from obvious interpretations of real-world exotics to off-roaders, classics, tuners, and dedicated racing machines.

Giving that automotive ecosystem a permanent circuit seems like a natural progression. Nobody should expect GTA 6 to suddenly compete with Gran Turismo or Assetto Corsa as a driving simulator, but a well-designed track could make its vehicle physics and customization systems considerably more entertaining.

For now, however, the racetrack is unconfirmed. Leaked material can provide compelling clues, but only Rockstar can establish exactly what will appear in the finished game.

If the circuit survives into the final release, GTA players may finally have a place where driving a stolen supercar at full throttle doesn’t immediately involve six police cars and a helicopter.
