Florida Woman Steals Red Bull Truck, Casually Stops at Gas Station Mid-Chase

One Florida woman allegedly found out the hard way that Red Bull wings do not get you very far when deputies are tracking the truck from the air.

According to a release and video shared by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on May 6, when 33-year-old Nicole Schular allegedly stole a fully branded Red Bull delivery truck during a stop in Tampa before driving it across multiple counties. However, the HCSO Facebook page only shared the aviation and body camera footage on Friday, helping push the story viral online.

What makes the footage especially bizarre is how normal everything looks at first glance. The iconic silver-and-blue Red Bull truck pulls into a gas station, the driver gets out carrying a bag, and walks inside as if it is just another delivery stop.

Meanwhile, overhead, aviation crews calmly describe the situation in a tone that somehow makes the entire thing feel even more like a viral Florida Woman story than an active multi-county pursuit.

That contrast is a big part of why the clip is already getting attention online. A stolen Red Bull truck already sounds absurd on paper. Adding calm aviation audio, “probably wearing Crocs” commentary, and a suspect allegedly acting as if she is the actual delivery driver with more stops still left to make gives the story all the ingredients of a future internet meme.

Deputies Say Woman Drove Stolen Red Bull Truck Across Multiple Counties

Embedded video follows, please allow a moment for it to load.

According to the sheriff’s office, the truck was making a delivery stop on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Tampa when Schular allegedly climbed inside and drove away.

Deputies say she then headed east on Interstate 4 toward Lakeland while the agency’s Aviation Unit tracked the truck from above. Authorities say the pursuit eventually involved assistance from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Lakeland Police Department before Schular was taken into custody.

The sheriff’s office later released aviation and body camera footage from the incident, showing the Red Bull truck pulling into a gas station while deputies coordinated from the air and ground.

Aviation Audio Is Part of What Made the Video Go Viral

Part of what has people talking online is the oddly casual aviation audio captured during the tracking operation.

As the truck stopped at a gas station, the air crew calmly described the suspect as wearing “blue shorts and gray top,” carrying a black bag, and “probably wearing Crocs.” The narration sounds less like officers tracking a reportedly stolen commercial truck and more like someone casually describing shoppers entering a convenience store.

That tone is what really makes the footage feel surreal. Deputies are tracking a reportedly stolen Red Bull truck from the air, while below, the suspect appears to casually walk into the gas station, acting like she is the actual delivery driver with more stops still left to make.

At no point in the footage does the scene initially look especially chaotic, which somehow makes it feel even stranger once viewers realize what is actually happening.

The Internet Immediately Turned the Chase Into a Red Bull Meme Fest

The sheriff’s office Facebook post quickly filled with jokes about the situation, especially references to Red Bull’s famous “gives you wings” slogan.

Some commenters joked that “Her wings got clipped,” while others wrote things like “No wings for her,” “It didn’t give her wings,” and “Guess who ain’t going to have wings.”

Others focused on the bizarrely calm nature of the video itself. One person wrote, “Thought this was a Red Bull commercial at first,” while another asked, “What the heck does she not know that she will get caught?”

The aviation unit audio also became a major talking point online, especially the now-viral “probably wearing Crocs” line. Multiple commenters said the narration sounded more like commentary from a reality show than an active police operation.

A few viewers also questioned how the theft happened in the first place, with one commenter asking why the truck was allegedly left running or accessible during the delivery stop.

Deputies Arrested Suspect at Gas Station

Body camera footage released by deputies shows officers entering the business and taking Schular into custody without a major confrontation.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Schular is now facing a grand theft auto charge. Authorities have not released additional information about whether she could face further charges or additional legal consequences.

Deputies also have not released a booking photo or identified where she was booked following the arrest.
