A Florida man who was wanted on numerous felony warrants confessed to committing roughly 50 vehicle burglaries after deputies found him hiding in a Mary Esther home and discovered a stolen firearm.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 27-year-old Phoenix Wendall Jordan on Sept. 19 after receiving information that he was hiding at a residence on Castle Road in Mary Esther.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the bedroom Jordan was staying in and seized more than 20 pieces of evidence. Among the items was a firearm that had previously been reported stolen in a vehicle burglary, along with an identification card belonging to another vehicle burglary victim.

Jordan was questioned and admitted responsibility for roughly 50 vehicle burglaries in the Mary Esther and Fort Walton Beach area.

A Search Leads to More

According to the sheriff’s office, Jordan admitted that the stolen firearm recovered from the bedroom came from one of his many vehicle burglaries.

Jordan also told investigators that he had been taking credit cards from vehicles and giving them to his ex-girlfriend, 25-year-old Breanna Flynn of Destin.

Investigators say Flynn used the stolen cards at various stores throughout the area.

Both Suspects Were Arrested

When investigators identified Flynn, they determined that she also had active felony warrants. She was then arrested on multiple charges.

Jordan’s booking record shows charges that include two counts of burglary of a dwelling, structure or conveyance while armed, grand theft of a firearm, grand theft of property valued between $750 and $5,000, and another theft charge. It also lists possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon and resisting an officer without violence.

Jordan is also facing four separate felony probation violation charges. His total listed bail is $27,500.

Booking records show that Flynn is charged with credit card fraud involving two or more transactions within six months and possession, receipt, or retention of a stolen credit or debit card. Her court record also lists a resisting an officer without violence charge and two felony probation violations.

Flynn’s total listed bail is $15,000.

The Sheriff Gives Credit

Sheriff Eric Aden credited the investigators involved for connecting information from multiple vehicle burglaries and linking stolen property to the suspects.

“This case required our team to piece together information from numerous burglaries and connect stolen property and other evidence to the suspects,” Aden said. “It was great police work, and I want to commend their persistence, attention to detail, and teamwork in moving the investigation forward and identifying additional crimes.”

The investigation remains ongoing. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
