A Sunday night trip to Target took an unusual turn in Florida when a shopper reported seeing a man outside his car wearing a G-string and masturbating in the parking lot, according to reporting based on his arrest report.

A Seminole County deputy responded to the Target near Oviedo Mall and identified the man as 41-year-old Nicholas Lydic. The witness described him as wearing a teal G-string and white sneakers when she saw him outside the vehicle, the New York Post reported after reviewing the arrest report.

Lydic had a different explanation. He told the deputy he had gotten wet and was outside his vehicle changing clothes, according to WKMG reporting carried by KPTV.

The encounter did not end with the wardrobe explanation. During the investigation, a deputy found a backpack containing women’s underwear along with sex toys inside Lydic’s vehicle, the outlet reported.

Not The Outfit

The G-string itself was not the reason for the arrest.

The case began with the shopper’s allegation that Lydic was touching himself outside the vehicle. The Post reported that the witness was leaving Target when she saw him masturbating and that Lydic was subsequently identified during the investigation.

Lydic denied the reported conduct and maintained that he had been changing because his clothes were wet.

He was arrested Sept. 6 on a charge listed in Seminole County booking data as indecent exposure of sexual organs, second or subsequent offense.

That designation gives the current case a repeat-offense component without requiring the parking-lot allegations to do all the work. A separate Volusia County arrest record from July 2023 lists a Nicholas Jay Lydic with the same reported date of birth on an indecent exposure in public charge.

An arrest record does not establish a conviction, and the disposition of that 2023 case was not independently established for this article.

For the current case, Lydic is accused, not convicted, of the conduct reported outside the Target.
