A duo in Florida stole a BMW, and it became a stash of evidence after Naples police found stolen property, stolen mail, and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle during an investigation into a string of robberies.

The Naples Police Department responded to multiple reports of burglaries in a residential area and the theft of the BMW around 1st Avenue South and Oleander Drive between Sept. 5 and 6. The stolen BMW contained more than $5,000 worth of personal property. The thieves stole the victim’s credit cards and used them for more than $1,300 in fraudulent purchases.

Investigators identified two suspects. Christen Michele Cutler was found hiding in bushes nearby after officers responded to a reported burglary in progress. Officers later arrested the other suspect, Nicholas Muraski, after stopping the stolen BMW in Old Naples.

Officers found property connected to the reported burglaries in the stolen BMW, such as stolen mail and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle also contained evidence that connected Cutler to the fraudulent credit card purchases.

One Tried To Hide

Officers responded to the burglary in progress on Oleander Drive when they found Cutler hiding in nearby bushes, according to the Naples Police Department. She initially resisted arrest before being taken into custody.

The stolen BMW was still on the streets later that day. Officers located the vehicle in Old Naples and arrested Murawski, who was allegedly driving despite having a revoked license.

Police say the stolen mail that was inside the BMW came from residential mailboxes.

A Trail of Purchases

Inside the BMW, investigators said they found a receipt and a stolen credit card. The receipt allegedly linked Cutler to roughly $1,300 in fraudulent charges at Four Seasons.

Police say the purchases include women’s clothing and accessories. Florida law states fraudulent credit charges of more than $100 result in a third-degree felony and 5 years in prison with a $5,000 fine.

Not a First

Cutler and Murawski have had previous interactions with law enforcement, according to the Naples Police Department. The pair were previously arrested by NPD in connection with a stolen golf cart in May 2025 and trespassing in October 2025.

Both suspects were taken to the Naples Jail Center and face a litany of charges, including burglary, grand theft auto, grand theft, fraudulent use of credit cards, mail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and driving with a revoked license. Information relating to bonds was not available.

The information available doesn’t specify which suspect faces each charge. Both Cutler and Murawski are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
