A complaint about someone filming inside a North Fort Myers truck stop restroom led deputies to a man in the parking lot and videos the Lee County Sheriff’s Office says were found on his phone.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the truck stop on Park 78 Drive on Sept. 30 after receiving reports that someone was filming over stalls in the men’s restroom.

Deputies encountered David Floyd in the parking lot.

During the investigation, the sheriff’s office said deputies located a video on Floyd’s phone showing him naked while sitting inside a restroom stall. In the recording, Floyd allegedly positioned his phone both underneath and over the stall partition to record a person in the neighboring stall.

The agency said deputies found several other videos on the phone depicting similar conduct and detained Floyd while the investigation continued.

The sheriff’s office said Floyd was also found with methamphetamine, a glass pipe, sex toys, and a mask with holes cut into it.

Floyd was arrested on charges of digital voyeurism, possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with evidence.

The charges are allegations. Floyd is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
