A total of five teenagers are facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into 16 different vehicles parked at a car dealership. After such a major feat, the five juveniles were eventually arrested after allegedly shoplifting at a local supermarket.
According to a news release issued by the Manlius Police Department, the incident occurred on June 28, 2026. During the morning, MPD officers responded to 215 W. Genessee Street.
Officers arrived at the Romano Chrysler Jeep dealership in Fayetteville and immediately started to investigate. Soon, they found out that, overnight, someone had broken into various vehicles parked at the dealership.

Footage, Damage
Investigating officers later gained access to surveillance camera footage. As per the MPD, five suspects were shown at the dealership at the time of the break-ins.
Furthermore, the police department reported that at least one of the vehicles had been damaged. Allegedly, someone had thrown a hammer directly through a side window.
Multiple footage sources were obtained and reviewed by the MPD. Other unspecified “types of evidence” were also secured.
Shoplifting Call
Later in the day, at around 1:09 p.m., MPD officers responded to 350 Towne Drive. The police had been informed that suspects had allegedly stolen merchandise from the local Tops Friendly Markets.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the juveniles, five in total. They were all placed under arrest.
Allegedly, officers recovered various store merch items from the juveniles’ possession. However, officers also found non-merchandise items such as keys and other tools, which, according to the MPD, appeared to be the property stolen from the 16 dealership cars.
Arrested and Charged
All five teenagers were placed under arrest. According to the MPD, they were all from Syracuse, and their ages range from 14 to 17.
They are facing multiple charges in connection with the dealership and supermaker incidents. These include multiple counts of petit larceny, sixth-degree conspiracy, and third-degree criminal mischief.
Given the suspects’ ages, their names or photos have not been publicly shared. Furthermore, they will face their charges in family court, which means that they could potentially be ordered to undergo probation, counseling, or other penalties focused on rehabilitation.
All the juveniles were processed and released to family members. They were issued appearance tickets due at the Onondaga County Probation Department and the Onondaga County Youth Part Court. The investigation remains ongoing, according to the Manlius Police Department.
