A dispute over who should back up on a narrow South Los Angeles street ended with a damaged car and a driver in the hospital. The driver says a woman smashed her car with a crowbar, then turned the tool on her.
In an interview with FOX 11 Los Angeles, the driver described an encounter around 4 a.m. Saturday, October 17, on 111th Street near Raymond Avenue. Two cars had reached a point where they could not get past each other.
She said the other driver was traveling the wrong way on the one-way street and demanded that she reverse. She told the other driver to back up instead. The two began shouting at each other.
By the station’s October 22 report, her family was calling for an arrest. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department had received video of the attack, and detectives had identified a suspect.

The station’s report describes a woman approaching the car with a crowbar and breaking the headlights, windshield, and driver’s-side window. When the driver got out, the woman attacked her and bit her multiple times.
“I thought she would stop and she didn’t,” the driver said. “She smacked me in the head with a crowbar at that point, and she snatched my phone out of my hand.”
She said that while she was in the hospital afterward, she felt she could have lost her life. During the attack, she had been shocked and had not known how to defend herself.
A Mother’s Appeal
Her mother questioned why the woman had not been arrested. She asked what might happen to someone else if the suspect remained free.
“Please help me catch her, get her and pay for all this,” she said. “This is not okay.”
In a statement provided to FOX 11, the sheriff’s department said South Los Angeles Station detectives were actively investigating the case. They were working to locate and apprehend the suspect.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s department.
