A woman in Hillsborough County, Florida, was stopped by deputies after they noticed that some of her rear lights were off. After a confusing story about her lack of a driver’s license or ID, deputies say they found 12 different licenses featuring her photo. None of them had her real name.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), the incident occurred on Wednesday, July 29. At around 10:39 p.m., deputies observed a vehicle a grey sedan and initiated a traffic stop.

As the deputy pointed out, the stop was due to some of the driver’s rear lights being off. As heard in the shared bodycam footage, her taillights and tag lights were out.

However, when the deputy engaged in conversation with the driver, identified as 28-year-old Bryce Swanson, things started to make no sense. That was only the beginning of a very revealing set of discoveries.

Boyfriend Explanation

The deputy asked if Swanson had her driver’s license with her. She said that she did, but didn’t have it on her at the time, as seen in the bodycam footage attached above.

“My boyfriend is supposed to meet me over there,” Swanson said. “He is supposed to come get the car for me.”

The woman then told the deputy that the car was a rental, and that her boyfriend was the one who rented it. Then, she said that her driver’s license was back in New York, over a thousand miles away. She was in The Sunshine State to visit friends “and stuff,” she added.

Fake Name?

Then, the moment of truth came. When asked for her name, Swanson said, “Brianna Valenzuela,” and she even spelled it out. When asked for an ID, though, she said she didn’t have it on her.

Swanson was told to exit her vehicle, and she complied. The deputy, confused, told her her story was “not making a lot of sense” to him.

“Do you have anything with your name on it in this car?” the deputy asked. Swanson responded, “No.” She was actually telling the truth.

12 IDs Lead To Arrest

The HCSO deputies conducted a vehicle search. It appears that they came across some ID’s on the trunk.

The sheriff’s office said that these 12 in total had Swanson’s photo printed on them. However, these also showed different names and dates of birth.

Bryce Swanson was immediately placed under arrest. It was later found that she was actually a Canadian national who had overstayed her visa, the MCSO said. She is charged with fraudulent use of personal information involving more than $5,000 or 10 but fewer than 20 victims, no valid driver’s license, and giving a false name to a law enforcement officer.

As reported by FOX 13, she was booked into the Orient Road Jail. Due to an ICE hold, she is being held without bond.
