Delivering packages during severe weather is already a challenge, but one delivery driver apparently decided that a flooded front yard was worth the risk. Unfortunately, that decision didn’t work out particularly well, as the driver ended up getting his Toyota RAV4 stuck in a water-filled ditch while attempting to complete a delivery.

TikTok creator KWW (@wiggywiggy200) shared footage of the unfortunate incident, explaining that she had actually tried to cancel the delivery because of flood advisories in her area. However, the cancellation apparently didn’t go through, leaving the delivery driver attempting to reach her home despite the dangerous conditions.

Rather than remaining on the roadway, the driver appears to have attempted to cross the creator’s flooded yard, only to discover that the water was deeper than expected. The Toyota became stuck in the ditch, creating a situation that was undoubtedly more complicated than simply leaving a package at someone’s doorstep.

The creator expressed sympathy for the driver, writing, “I did try….sorry delivery guy I really thought it would have canceled with all the flood advisories.” Although the footage prompted plenty of jokes about the driver’s decision-making, commenters were also relieved that he appeared to be okay and wondered how the vehicle would eventually be recovered.

Driver Doesn’t Realize the Flood Is Deep

TikTok video embedded below; please give it a moment to load completely.

The video shows a delivery driver in a Toyota RAV4 seemingly trying to make a delivery while it’s torrentially raining outside. In fact, you can quite literally see the raindrops falling over the camera as the recording goes on.

Unfortunately, the driver of the RAV4 had no idea just how bad the flooding at this particular house had gotten. The people living at the house tried to run over to the delivery driver before anything could happen, but before they could get to him, he drove directly into a deep puddle just outside the home.

It must have been very deep because the left headlight is completely submerged. In a different video, the original creator tried using the truck that’s visible in the video to tow it out, but the angle wasn’t that great, and the tow rope was too long.

Fortunately, the car was able to be saved, but it looks as though it was a day or so later, judging by the fact that it wasn’t raining anymore. An actual tow truck came and took the RAV4 and, considering that the tow truck driver had to use a winch to take the RAV4 up the ramp, the car wouldn’t turn on.

Comments and Reactions to Delivery Driver’s Flooded Toyota RAV4

The comments were filled with viewers questioning why the driver decided to leave the road in the first place, especially with the yard already flooded. “Why on earth would he leave the road,” one commenter asked, while another added, “Why would he think it’s ok to just pull into your front yard?”

Others couldn’t resist making jokes about the unfortunate situation, particularly the possibility that the driver had underestimated how deep the water actually was. “Nah, he had GAP insurance and wanted to get out of that loan 😂😅,” one viewer joked, while another imagined the driver’s thought process, writing, “Yk what let’s just drive into the water!”

However, some commenters were more concerned about the potential damage to the Toyota and whether the driver would be able to get it out of the ditch. “Back or turn it off before you hydrolock that bitch,” one viewer warned, while another asked, “Waittt post the rescue we wanna seee,” leaving plenty of people curious about how the situation ultimately ended.
