Chevrolet has revealed a new limited-edition Corvette created to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Strangely, the car will not be sold in the United States.
The 2026 Corvette America Anniversary Edition has been launched exclusively for the Japanese market. Only 20 examples will be offered, making it one of the rarest C8 Corvette variants so far.
Each car is based on the Corvette Coupe 3LT and built in right-hand drive at GM’s Bowling Green plant in Kentucky. From there, the cars are exported to Japan through official Chevrolet dealers.
The result is wonderfully ironic. One of the most patriotic Corvettes ever created is heading overseas, while American buyers are left watching from the sidelines.
A Corvette Dressed For America’s Birthday

The America Anniversary Edition is finished in Arctic White, a color Chevrolet Japan says symbolizes freedom. The body is accented by full-length Asymmetrical Edge Red and Carbon Flash racing stripes.
Those stripes give the car a proper motorsport-inspired look. Combined with Edge Red brake calipers and bright machined-face forged wheels, the package feels bold without going completely overboard.
The theme continues under the rear glass. Chevrolet added an Edge Red engine cover with lighting for the mid-mounted 6.2-liter LT2 V8.
Japan Gets Unique Interior Details

Inside, the special edition receives an Adrenaline Red and Black cabin with several market-specific touches. The layout also includes the updated 2026 Corvette interior with its new three-screen setup.
Chevrolet Japan added unique floor mat ornaments, special scuff plates, and a commemorative passenger-side plaque. That plaque reads “1776-2026 / America Anniversary Edition,” making the car’s purpose impossible to miss.
These small details matter on limited Corvettes. Collectors tend to love regional oddities, especially when production numbers are extremely low.
Only 20 Cars Will Be Built

Chevrolet will offer just 20 examples of the America Anniversary Edition in Japan. That instantly makes it rarer than most factory C8 special editions.
Pricing is listed at 19,850,000 yen, which converts to roughly $130,000-ish, depending on the exchange rate. That is expensive for a Stingray, but exclusivity often changes the math for collectors.
The car is different from the Stars & Steel Collection offered in North America. That means U.S. buyers cannot simply order an equivalent version through their local dealer.
Peak Corvette Irony
There is something deeply funny about Chevrolet building a Corvette to celebrate American independence, then selling it only in Japan. It feels like the sort of contradiction only the modern global car market could create.
Still, the package itself works. White paint, red accents, a dramatic interior, and a naturally aspirated V8 are exactly the ingredients Corvette fans understand.
American buyers may be annoyed that they cannot have one. That frustration will probably make the Japan-only America Anniversary Edition even more desirable years from now.
