A Toyota Corolla was missing several things it needed for a normal drive through Hemet, California, early Sunday morning. A working turn signal was not one of them.
Video recorded shortly after 1 a.m. Sept. 13 shows the badly damaged sedan continuing down the road while sparks pour from beneath it. The driver even activates the blinker before making a turn.
Public Safety Incidents, which recorded the encounter, reports that the Corolla had already struck a center divider before leaving the crash scene. The car continued onto Domenigoni Parkway and Warren Road with its airbags deployed before eventually spinning out.
Hemet police officers arrived shortly afterward. Public Safety Incidents reports that the driver admitted having three shots after getting off work at Soboba Casino.
Damage Control

During the field sobriety investigation, Public Safety Incidents reports that an officer told the woman her vehicle was heavily damaged.
Her response: “Damage? Where?”
That became the obvious favorite.
One viewer compared the scene to “The Wolf of Wall Street,” while others focused on the driver’s continued use of the turn signal.
“At least she used her blinker,” one person wrote.
Public Safety Incidents pointed out one last detail: after the car spins out, the driver switches on the hazard lights.
Six More in the Car
Public Safety Incidents reports that officers arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI. When they later searched the car for her house keys and cellphone, the outlet says they found six small shot bottles and a bottle of Coastal Sun.
The outlet also told Guessing Headlights that officers requested a registered nurse at the police station for a blood draw.
The outlet added that the driver reportedly lived nearby and passed her own house while continuing down the road in the damaged Corolla.
All parties are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
