Imagine parking your $80,000 BMW for a quick errand, only to return and discover that it’s been towed away. Now imagine finally getting it back, turning it on, and finding enough warning lights on the dashboard to make you wonder whether the towing company broke something along the way.

That’s the situation TikTok creator Takira (@takiradrives) says she found herself in after her BMW X3 M Competition was removed from a 30-minute parking space. She insists she hadn’t exceeded the posted time limit, making the decision to tow her SUV particularly difficult to understand.

However, the questionable tow was only the beginning of her problems, as the BMW apparently came back with a dashboard illuminated by warning lights that weren’t there before. Takira believes the towing company damaged her vehicle, and judging by the reaction to her video, plenty of people suspect something went wrong during transportation.

You might expect a towing company to at least investigate a customer’s complaint about potential vehicle damage, but Takira says the manager had a different suggestion. According to her TikTok caption, the manager essentially told her to sue the company, leaving her with an expensive SUV, an unexplained collection of warning lights, and no immediate resolution.

@takiradrives POV: your $80,000 BMW gets towed, comes back with a Christmas tree of warning lights, and the towing company’s manager tells you to sue them instead of helping 😍😍😍 #towed #x3mcompetition #x3m #damagedcar ♬ original sound – Takira❤️‍🔥

In her TikTok video, Takira describes recovering her BMW X3 M Competition after it was towed, only to discover that its dashboard looked like a Christmas tree. The creator’s frustration is understandable, considering she maintains that the SUV shouldn’t have been removed from its parking spot in the first place.

“I was parked in a 30-MINUTE MAXIMUM parking spot, and I WASN’T EVEN THERE FOR 30 MINUTES,” Takira explained in the comments, addressing people who suggested she should have paid for parking. She clarified that the space was specifically designated for short-term parking and that she hadn’t used the full amount of time permitted.

The mechanical concerns are another matter entirely, particularly because the X3 M Competition uses an all-wheel-drive system that requires appropriate towing procedures to avoid potential drivetrain damage. Some viewers believe the SUV was dragged with only its front wheels lifted, but neither the towing method nor the actual cause of the warning lights has been confirmed through the information provided.

Comments and Reactions to BMW X3 M Competition Towing Dispute

The comments quickly turned into a discussion about proper towing procedures, with several viewers convinced that the BMW’s all-wheel-drive system hadn’t been handled correctly. “That is not a BMW thing;😂 they towed the car and didn’t even care to put the car in neutral,” one person argued, while another claimed, “They didn’t tow it with a flatbed; they just hooked up the front; it’s AWD.”

Other commenters weren’t interested in giving the towing company the benefit of the doubt, especially after hearing Takira’s account of the manager’s response. “Please!! Sue them, girl; they messed up your alignment,” one viewer wrote, while another suggested hiring an attorney and seeking compensation for both the vehicle repairs and legal expenses.

Perhaps the most concerning responses came from people who claimed to have experienced similar problems after their own vehicles were towed. “The same place towed mine, and it was 2k to repair 😭,” one commenter shared, while another described taking legal action after a tow allegedly damaged their engine, although those individual claims haven’t been independently verified.
