A Rude Stranger Blocked His Car at the Pump, So He Decided to Get Revenge. Safe to Say It Got Messy

A gas station standoff didn’t need yelling, honking, or a dramatic confrontation to get petty, according to a post on Reddit. One user took to the r/pettyrevenge community to share a story that happened to them, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. It started with one driver trying to stay in the shade and ended with another driver waiting through a very committed window-cleaning session.

The Reddit user said they had stopped at a neighborhood gas station that had three aisles of pumps. No one else was using them at the time, so they pulled up to the second pump instead of the first. Since it was hot outside, that spot let them keep the car under the canopy shade as they were getting their gas.

Then another driver pulled in and made the whole thing a bit awkward. Instead of taking one of the open pumps, the other driver parked at the pump in front of the Reddit user and faced their car toward them to make things ultra weird, apparently. According to the post, the driver parked close enough that the Reddit user couldn’t leave easily without maneuvering around him.

So, the OP found a solution that was both petty and technically productive. They grabbed the gas station squeegee and started washing their windows. It wasn’t a quick wipe, either. Suddenly, every single piece of glass on the car needed attention.

How the Gas Station Hosted a Cleaning Project

The Reddit user said washing the windows after getting gas was something they already did when the weather made sense, but they hardly went as hard as they did this time. But since the other driver’s parking choice pushed them, they decided to give the task a little more purpose. If someone was going to make leaving inconvenient, there was no reason to rush.

The windshield came first, then the rest of the car. The Redditor moved to the rear window, side windows, mirrors, and then the sunroof. It was a super careful cleaning job, and it took a while to complete.

Why This Revenge Was the Best Revenge

The best part is that the Reddit user didn’t really have to do anything outrageous. They didn’t block the other driver back, start an argument, or turn the gas station into a full roadside performance. They just kept cleaning while the other guy sat there with the consequences of his own parking decision.

The passenger in the other car seemed to figure out the joke and started laughing. That appeared to end the standoff, because the other driver eventually backed out and left after realizing their mistake. The Reddit poster said they were ready to keep going with the license plates if needed, so the car may have escaped just before the situation became a full detail job.

And this is one reason why you try to stay courteous when parking, no matter where it is you are.
