A DoorDash driver was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time when she was caught in an incident that damaged her car.
Not only that, but the incident also left her in pain, and yet that did not hold her back from delivering food.
Viral footage of the incident from Houston, Texas, shows the DoorDash driver caught amidst a police pursuit, where the patrol cars were chasing a suspected robber.
Unfortunately, the suspect’s car struck her just when she had gotten out of her car. Despite being involved in an incident that caused her great pain, the driver completed her job.
Determined DoorDash Driver Doesn’t Let Crash Get in the Way of Work

According to the Instagram post shared by TheAuxTalk, the viral video showed the DoorDash driver narrowly avoiding far more serious injuries before going on to complete her delivery.
Footage shows the unidentified DoorDash driver arriving at the delivery location in her car, and moments later, she stepped out, despite hearing police sirens.
Instead of looking toward the approaching siren, she got out of her car and stood beside it when she saw the gray sedan, driven by the suspected robber, approaching her.
Although the vehicle appeared slow enough for her to react and save herself, it is likely that the suddenness of the event led her to freeze in place. Unfortunately, she was struck by the sedan, which first hit her car and then her.
The impact caused the woman to fall onto the sedan’s hood. Luckily, the slow speed of the car meant she was able to get back on her feet, collect the package that had fallen on the road, and walk up to the house nearby to deliver the order.
Footage showed the suspect exiting the sedan and fleeing in the opposite direction on foot, while officers pursued him in that direction.
According to a report by ABC 13 Eyewitness News that first shared the footage, court documents revealed that Torrance Whitaker, 34, was wanted for burglary and was fleeing from police after an attempted traffic stop.
Whitaker was charged with aggravated assault in connection with the collision involving the delivery driver. Meanwhile, the DoorDash delivery driver, who was in pain, did not want to be identified. Luckily, she did not suffer from broken bones. Now, she is looking to file a claim against Whitaker’s car insurer.

DoorDash Driver Sets Up Fundraiser for Medical Expenses
Among the comments on the Instagram post was one from a user named beatz.by_stoney, who claimed to be the DoorDash driver. She mentioned setting up a GoFundMe page to cover her medical expenses. Her profile bio led to the fundraiser, suggesting that she was indeed the delivery driver.
In the fundraiser, she described the life-changing incident and revealed that she is also suffering from trauma, though she remains thankful to be alive. She wrote:
“My life changed in an instant while I was out doing DoorDash deliveries. I was hit by a car that was evading arrest from the police, and the accident has left me shaken and struggling to recover. Since the crash, I’ve been dealing with mounting medical bills and have had to miss several days of work. The trauma from the accident has made it hard for me to even leave my house, and I’m unable to get the medications I need to manage my pain.
“This experience has been overwhelming, both physically and emotionally. I’m reaching out for help because I want to focus on healing without the constant worry about how I’ll pay for my care or cover my basic needs. Every bit of support will go directly toward my medical expenses, lost income, and the essentials I need to get back on my feet.
“Thank you all for your concern and support as I go through this tough time. Any donation is fine, and I’m just very thankful to be alive. Your kindness means more than words can say, and I appreciate any help you can give.”
