Jeep has finally taken the wraps off its all-electric large SUV – the Wagoneer S. While the new EV is impressive and promises a ton of performance, a lot of people were hoping to see something more in line with Jeep’s legacy, something capable of navigating rough terrain as if it was a walk in a park. It seems Jeep was listening – enter the Jeep Wagoneer S Trailhawk.
A Trail-Ready Electric Beast
The Trailhawk is a concept for now; it is a way for Jeep to figure out what the public thinks of this new-age electric off-roader. Judging by the initial response, the company will have to hurry up and bring this version to the market much sooner than expected.

Built on the standard Wagoneer S, the Trailhawk sports the same 600-horsepower twin-motor powertrain backed by a 100 kWh battery. 300-mile range and 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds are impressive stats for any electric vehicle, let alone an off-road beast ready to tackle any terrain. 31.5-inch tire and wheel combo hugs any trail and laughs in the face of obstacles. Lifted suspension and redesigned front and rear with a collection of sturdy tow hooks make the Trailhawk ready for any recovery mission.
The Trail Rated badge isn’t just for show. The Trailhawk comes equipped with a locking rear axle and a dedicated Rock Mode in its Selec-Terrain drive mode selector. Functional air extractors are designed to relieve air pressure buildup during high-speed driving. The Trailhawk cleverly balances its off-road prowess with on-road efficiency.
Interior Designed For Adventure

Inside, the Trailhawk is as different from the standard Wagoneer S as it is outside. Starting with a unique octagonal steering wheel that Jeep claims is designed for “hand-over-hand maneuvering” and offers a “tactical-inspired grip.” We’ll take Jeep’s word for it.
The interior is both functional and stylish, with a modular cargo system using elastic straps to secure gear. The front seats have a sportier, more supportive design, and there’s a cross-car grab bar to hold on to when the ride gets a bit rough. The grab bar cleverly doubles as a mounting point for many accessories.
Evolution Of The Jeep Brand

The Wagoneer S Trailhawk is so much more than just another concept vehicle. It is a clear statement of intent, showing that Jeep is finally ready to take the lead in the electric off-road segment. The Trailhawk has plenty of new clever technology, yet it remains respectful of the brand’s tradition. It’s a tantalizing glimpse of the future.
There’s one minor issue, though. Just like the Wagoneer S, the Trailhawk – if it makes it to the showrooms – won’t be exactly affordable. With the Wagoneer S starting at over $71,000, it is safe to assume the Trailhawk will command a healthy premium over that. Whether it’s worth the extra cost will depend on your thirst for an electric adventure.
