A Texas shop has built a C8 Corvette with a clutch pedal and a stick shift. Turning that project into a customer swap is still in the works, and the listed package costs nearly $75,000.

Alex Peitz of Peitz Performance Tunes shared the news in a November 3 announcement. His team worked with transmission maker Tremec to put a manual gearbox in the car.

The shop, based in Tomball, calls its build the first-ever manual C8 Corvette. The pitch targets drivers who want the hands-on feel of a clutch and gear lever.

Getting that experience will take a large budget and some patience. The swap package is listed at $74,528.99, with key parts due in 2027.

In his announcement, Peitz credits months of work with Tremec for the build. He says the team spent that time developing and testing the swap.

A November 5 report in Road & Track describes a running and driving prototype at the SEMA Show. It follows Tremec’s unveiling of the TR9060 at the 2025 show.

In factory form, the 2026 Corvette has an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, as listed in Chevrolet’s specifications. It offers both automatic and manual modes, so drivers can already choose when to change gears.

With the stock setup, the car handles the clutch work. Peitz’s swap gives that task to the driver, adding a third pedal along with the gear lever.

The shop’s conversion listing names the Tremec TR9060 as the gearbox. The listed parts include a custom shifter and cables, plus a clutch pedal and its hydraulic system. The package also calls for new electronics.

That side of the swap is still in the works. Peitz lists a required MoTeC package with one unit to control the engine and a second to handle shift functions. Those include brief cuts in spark on upshifts and throttle blips on downshifts.

The listing also names the gear in use, clutch pedal position, and gearbox fluid temperature among the things the system will track. Peitz aims to keep the car’s stock features working with the swap.

For buyers, the schedule has two separate dates. Peitz targets the first quarter of 2027 for the completed plug-and-play electronics package and lists July 2027 for transmission availability.
