A man fell into a six-foot hole in Phoenix, and a pickup truck partially fell in, too. Technical rescue crews pulled him out safely, the Phoenix Fire Department announced in a November 1 post.

The rescue happened in the man’s backyard near 24th Street and Thomas Road, AZFamily reported. Firefighters were called to the area around 3 p.m. Sunday.

The man suffered a chest injury during the fall and could not get out of the hole on his own.

A department photo published by AZFamily shows a white Ford F-350 tilted down at its front passenger side. Broken ground is visible beside the front tire.

Firefighters first stabilized the pickup. A rescue technician then went down into the hole and brought the man out safely.

He was taken to a hospital in stable condition after the rescue. No firefighters were injured.
