Cop Car Prevents a Full-On Road Rage Incident: “That Was Very Satisfying”

Dashcam footage shows the best and worst of human behavior, and one video has shown how having a cop in the right place at the right time can stop that bad behavior. This clip is incredibly satisfying to watch, as a cop car may have prevented serious road rage.

This footage was uploaded to Reddit. Specifically, to the r/dashcams subreddit, which showcases some of the best dashcam footage on the internet. The video is entitled “It was close to becoming a full-blown road rage incident,” until a cop car appeared in the video.

In the video, we drive along a road as normal before we reach some traffic lights. At the lights, the car in front of us turns right while our light is green. While you can turn right on a red light, it wasn’t a good idea for the white sedan to do so in front of the dashcam car.

But that is when things became interesting. The dashcam car blared its horn at the car that pulled out in front of it, only for that car to suddenly slam on its brakes and perform a brake check. They clearly didn’t notice the police car behind them as their road rage took over.

The Police Car Saw Everything Unfold

The dashcam car is proceeding down the road as normal, with a green light ahead. The white sedan, meanwhile, is turning right in front of us, and in America you can go right on a red light. Given the other traffic to the right isn’t moving, we can safely assume that lane has a red light.

But the white sedan, which appears to be a Subaru, pulls out right in front of our car, with the police car somewhere behind us. The dashcam vehicle honks, and after pulling in front, the sedan tries to cut in front of the car we’re in and slams on its brakes. It looks like a brake check, and people inside our car gasp.

“Are you filming that?” one of the occupants can be heard saying. A few seconds later, the cop car pulls up behind them and starts flashing its lights at the white sedan to get it to pull over. The occupants of the dashcam car can be heard laughing and clapping as they realize the police car has seen everything unfold in front of them.

Even if the sedan driver tried to get out of the predicament they were in, the dashcam footage would say otherwise.

Reddit Users Found the Incident Very Satisfying

Those who saw the Reddit video loved it. “Every bit of that was satisfying,” said the top comment, which, at the time of writing, had 2,700 upvotes. The video itself had 19,000 upvotes and 1,800 comments. “When the sheriff comes into the scene,” another comment said. “My favorite part is when they pull to the left instead of the right. It’s lots of cops’ pet peeve, not to mention legally required,” added another.

“That laugh at the end…” said another user, and the laugh at the end was certainly fun to listen to. The occupants of the dashcam car were incredibly satisfied with what they had just witnessed.

The moral of the story here is: don’t drive like an idiot on the road, and certainly don’t do so if a cop car is just behind you.
