Few American luxury cars have aged as gracefully as the 1961 Lincoln Continental, with its elegant styling, imposing proportions, and iconic suicide doors. Now, a heavily customized example known as “Snowblind” is preparing to cross the auction block.
Scheduled for Barrett-Jackson’s January 2027 Scottsdale auction, this Pearl White convertible combines classic Lincoln design with modern performance upgrades. Its timeless exterior hides a thoroughly reworked mechanical package.
The car has already made an impression on the custom-car scene, winning First in Class at the 2026 Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California. It’s an impressive achievement for a build that keeps much of the original Continental’s distinctive appearance.
With a modern LS3 V8, upgraded suspension, powerful brakes, and a redesigned interior, Snowblind promises a different experience from a factory-original Lincoln. According to Barrett-Jackson, it has covered just 460 miles since its restoration.

Under the hood sits a Southern Performance-built 6.2-liter LS3 V8, replacing the Continental’s original engine. Although Barrett-Jackson hasn’t disclosed its horsepower output, the LS3 is well known for its performance potential.

Power reaches the rear wheels through a 4L70E four-speed automatic transmission and a Ford 9-inch rear axle with 3.70 gears. The build also features a dual-fan aluminum radiator and a custom aluminum fuel tank.
The chassis has also received significant upgrades, including a four-link suspension setup with coilovers. It also has Flaming River rack-and-pinion steering, and Baer disc brakes with an electric hydro-boost system to handle stopping duties.
Luxury With A Modern Twist

Snowblind’s custom Pearl White finish complements the Continental’s long, clean bodywork, while Isotope wheels and LED lighting provide subtle modern touches. The signature rear-hinged doors remain, along with a new canvas convertible top.
Inside, four leather-trimmed bucket seats replace the original seating arrangement, giving the cabin a more contemporary feel. Dakota Digital gauges, Bluetooth connectivity, and a custom steering wheel add modern convenience.
There’s also a Vintage Air climate-control system and an Ididit tilt steering column. The dashboard, lighting, and air-conditioning wiring have been updated, while the windows were refurbished by specialist John Cashman.
Heading To Auction Without Reserve
The 1961 Continental introduced the fourth-generation design that helped establish Lincoln’s reputation for understated luxury. Snowblind preserves that character while adding substantial mechanical upgrades.
Barrett-Jackson says the convertible has traveled just 460 miles since its restoration, with receipts documenting the work included in the sale. Its award-winning history could also make it appealing to collectors.
The car will cross the block without reserve at Barrett-Jackson’s January 2027 Scottsdale auction, meaning the highest bidder will take it home. No price estimate has been announced, but this distinctive Lincoln should attract plenty of attention.
