Woman Finds Out Why the Cheapest Lamborghini Gallardo in the USA Was So Cheap

YouTuber and car lover Emelia Hartford decided she wanted to add a Lamborghini to her garage. So she decided to look for the cheapest one available and came across a $60,000 Lamborghini Gallardo that looked perfect for her.

But buying any car that is normally very expensive cheaply can come with risks. These cars, such as a supercar, are expensive for a reason, and when they go up for sale, they usually go for quite a lot of money as well. But Hartford was happy to take the risk with this Lamborghini.

However, she soon realized why this heavily modified supercar had been sold for such a low price. Electrical issues, dodgy wiring, and a temperamental transmission all added up to a nightmare of a car. But Hartford was not willing to back down from her quest to get the car running again.

A video on her channel shows her working on the car, going through the problems, and trying to get the Gallardo going again. The last thing she wanted was a repair bill so high that she may as well have bought a more expensive Gallardo. So she had to be smart about her repairs.

What Was Wrong With the Lamborghini Gallardo?

Hartford had always wanted a twin-turbocharged Lamborghini. So the chance to buy this Gallardo was too good a chance to miss. It already had a twin-turbo kit, and that upgrade alone was worth roughly $35,000. So Hartford thought $60,000 was an incredibly good deal for the car. But Hartford knew that the previous owner had once jump-started the car, which then stopped it from working properly.

The engine would turn over, but the supercar just refused to start. A Lamborghini dealer wouldn’t touch the car, according to Hartford, leaving her with the job of getting it going again. So she had a slightly older Lamborghini, with an undiagnosed issue, various modifications, and a manufacturer that didn’t want to touch it. It certainly wasn’t going to be an easy one for Hartford to handle.

The team had to work through many items, such as the spark plugs and fuel supply, to work out what was wrong with the car. They soon found that the engine had compression, but there was no spark or fuel reaching the engine as it should. But they then found pinched wires with exposed copper behind the center console. So they separated the damaged wires, and suddenly, the ignition signal was back. The Lamborghini started, giving Hartford and her team a big reason to celebrate.

Hartford Found Out the Gallardo Had a Transmission Issue

Hartford soon found out that the Gallardo had three programmed driving modes thanks to its twin-turbocharged setup. These unleashed power in stages of 650, 720-750, and 820 hp. In the final setting, the Gallardo could shoot flames out of the back, a sign of just how much power the supercar was packing. However, Hartford and her team found that the transmission had a big issue with a rough clutch and a reluctance to shift into third gear. Fifth gear was also found to have problems.

A broken fuel-pressure-regulator hose just added to the problems Hartford and her team were facing. It was now obvious why this Gallardo had cost so little for Hartford to buy. A transmission replacement could cost Hartford $30,000, and diagnostic equipment required to work out exactly what was going on could cost her $10,000. So yes, this was the cheapest Gallardo that Hartford could find on sale at the time.

Sadly, she soon found out why it was on sale at such a low price.
