A motorbike rider in Oldham, England, tried two different ways to escape a police officer and unsurprisingly, neither worked.
Camera footage from the pursuing officer shows the rider weaving around traffic on residential streets before sharply crossing both lanes of the road. A woman who had started walking across the street narrowly avoids being struck.
The rider continues toward an open field, where he jumps from the motorbike and rolls across the grass. The abandoned bike carries on without him for a while before falling nearby.
He then gets back onto his feet and begins running across the field. The officer continues following until the rider stops, tosses down his helmet and seems out of breath.
The Rider Narrowly Missed a Pedestrian

The footage begins with the motorbike passing parked and moving vehicles while an officer follows closely behind.
As the rider turned across the road, he narrowly hit a woman walking by, but luckily, no collision occurred, and the police did not report any injuries connected to the pursuit.
The Escape Continued on Foot
The rider lost control after reaching a field and abandoned the motorbike, tumbled onto the grass, and immediately began running.
His lead gradually disappears as the officer follows him across the field. The rider eventually slowed, stopped, and threw his helmet onto the ground. Police described the pursuit on social media as “a game of cat and mouse that ended with the mouse calling it quits.”
Police Arrested the Rider on Three Allegations
Police arrested the unnamed man on Aug. 19 on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving without insurance, according to The Sun UK. He is expected to appear in court later in 2026.
The force released the footage as part of Operation Hurricane, a Greater Manchester initiative targeting the dangerous and antisocial use of off-road motorcycles, electric bikes and quad bikes.
The Crackdown Has Seized 14 Vehicles in August
Oldham police said officers had stopped 64 vehicles and seized 14 during targeted activity in August. They also issued 30 traffic-offense reports and seven warnings.
The operation produced six arrests, including four on suspicion of drug driving, one involving dangerous driving, and one involving vehicle theft.
