Rescuing someone in distress is never easy, especially when the terrain makes reaching them nearly impossible. That’s exactly what happened during a recent multi-agency response in Wise County, Texas, where first responders worked together to safely extract a citizen in need.

The Wise County Sheriff’s Office shared body-worn camera and drone footage showing the challenging rescue from the perspective of the responders on the ground. The video highlights the coordination required as multiple agencies came together to complete the mission.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were joined by the Bridgeport Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Wise County Constables, local firefighters, and EMS personnel. Officials said every agency remained committed to the operation until the citizen was safely rescued.

Rather than focusing on a single department, the sheriff’s office said the incident demonstrates why multi-agency cooperation is so important during emergencies. Officials praised everyone involved for their determination, professionalism, and commitment to serving the Wise County community.

Body Camera and Drone Footage Capture the Dramatic Rescue

The video is pretty insane and features a drone flying over a forested area, training its camera on a fire breaking out of a vehicle. After it was determined that it was safe for officers to go in and help the person still inside the car, they began using batons to break the windows.

The officer had tried using the handle on the inside of the driver’s side door to open it, but it must have been stuck. So, the next course of action was to pull the driver out of the window to safety.

As this was happening, the blaze continued spreading along the hood of the car. However, that didn’t deter the officers, who were determined to help the driver.

Driver Pulled to Safety Moments Before Flames Spread

It almost looks as though the driver might have been unconscious throughout the ordeal, seeing that he didn’t really attempt to help the officers get him out. However, before the video ends, you can see the officers safely pull him out.

As the officers put the driver down on the ground in a safe location, with the fire blaring in the background, you can hear one of them say, “He’s safe. He’s safe. We got him. We got him.”

By the video’s end, the officers are each holding the driver by an arm and a leg as they try to take him out of the area. According to the text at the beginning of the video, the driver was successfully evacuated.

Additional information about the incident, including the name of the driver, what sort of injuries they might have sustained, and what could have caused the fire were not disclosed.
