The Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office recently shared a humorous Facebook post that struck a chord with drivers by describing the all-too-familiar thoughts that can race through someone’s mind while waiting in their vehicle during a traffic stop.
As it turns out, the agency joked, there may be a simple reason for the delay that has nothing to do with warrants, backup units, or long-forgotten teenage mischief.

In the post, the constable’s office walks readers through the escalating internal monologue many people experience after being pulled over.

According to the constable’s office, the officer may have dropped the driver’s license into the narrow gap between the patrol vehicle’s seat and center console and spent the last 15 minutes trying to retrieve it.
